I am a Texas native who grew up in the Dallas area. I attended The University of Texas, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development. I subsequently completed all of my graduate training at the University of North Texas, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I serve children and adolescents through 21 years of age on either a short or a long-term basis depending upon the presenting issues and the goals of treatment that we set together. In short-term psychotherapy, I utilize an approach which can be described as active and directive. I work to help you solve current problems and reduce overall stress, by teaching you and your child skills and strategies to reduce symptoms and improve functioning.
I am currently only accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield for in-network benefits. If you have BCBS, your claims will be submitted by my billing service directly to your insurance. You will only be responsible for meeting your deductible, if you have one, and/or your copay. If you have any other insurance plan, I am considered an Out of Network Provider.
This initial information will help me understand your basic concerns and assess whether or not my practice is an appropriate treatment source based on your current needs. It is my goal to ensure you find the help you are seeking. If it appears to be a good fit, I will follow-up with an email to discuss scheduling options.
Note: Responses to the following questions are my own opinion and should not be construed as representative of all mental health professionals. 1. What's the difference between a psychologist and other mental health providers? While there are caring and competent providers in every field of mental health, significant differences exist in the level of their education and training.
