Located at the base of the Cascade Mountains, Orenda Winery brought us together with a shared commitment - to build community and to bring Orenda to winemaking. High elevation fruit aged for two years in small French oak barrels, Orenda is known for complex, subtle and dynamic flavors reminiscent of an old-world style rarely found in Washington wines.
For their first commercial vintage, Orenda Winery was awarded "Best Red in show" at the 2019 Northwest Wine Invitational. Orenda Winery has further garnered Double-Gold and Platinum awards from the Seattle Wine Awards, Sip Magazine, Wine Press Northwest, and Great Northwest Wine.

Xander and Samantha met salsa dancing 10 years ago, just months before Xander left for 3 years volunteering in West Africa. Despite this, they maintained a long-distance connection. Volunteering in West Africa, Xander developed a passion for beekeeping and the environment. In parallel, Samantha continued her studies in chemistry and developing a love of flavors and expression.
Romance, happy coincidences, an understanding of science and a lifelong appreciation for art, food, and wine led to Samantha's work as Winemaker and Head of Operations for Orenda Winery and Event Center. It was a non-linear career path - including living abroad in Germany, publishing research in neurology and geriatrics and eventually attending medical school.
Success came rather quickly last year for Xander and Samantha Kent as Orenda Winery attracted attention with one of the Pacific Northwest's most decorated examples of Cabernet Franc released in 2019. This gorgeous expression of Cabernet Franc maintains a restrained ripeness that provides more red fruit flavors.
Orenda is a 3.5-acre operating winery and historic farm estate. The grounds are enclosed in white washed walls covered with English Ivy providing peaceful privacy. Inside the wrought iron gate, the driveway winds through mature trees, flower gardens, and fountain pond. Located between Fall City and Carnation off highway 203, Orenda Winery is just 45 minutes from Seattle and 25 minutes from Bellevue and Redmond, and 15 minutes from Issaquah.

Delightful winery in a somewhat surprising location just outside of Carnation. We drank a bottle of the Cab Franc at a restaurant in Duvall on Friday and decided to drop in here on our way home from walking the dogs this afternoon. Shannon and her little helper Emily, looked after us very well. We enjoyed some Riesling, Merlot, Cab Sauvignon, Shannon's favorite "Balance" (a blend) and, of course, the Cab Franc. Not too busy and not too big for a late Sunday afternoon spontaneous wine-tasting. Recommended!

My bridal shower was hosted here and I cannot say enough good things about how perfect it was! Tressa was amazing with helping set-up the back garden area and supplying the most amazing pastries and charcuterie spread. She even helped set-up a few big umbrellas last minute when it was much hotter than we expected. We got so many comments on how great the wine was and beautiful the set-up was.
We will definitely be back this summer to drink some of their delicious wine out on the grass lawn!

We were lucky enough to be welcomed amongst all of this craziness happening in the world right now for a private tasting. Samantha was wonderful accommodating with both scheduling and hosting our small group visit. We had a safe, quiet and lovely time trying INCREDIBLE wines (I had no idea they were so good and have tried wine around the world!) The grounds and building are impeccable cared for and the ambiance is warm and inviting for anyone to enjoy. If you have a chance to venture out I highly recommend this winery vs. the hubub of Woodinville. Definitely a favorite and will be going back as

Four of us recently planned an outing to Carnation for wine tasting at Orenda Winery. Orenda Winery is a real gem hidden away on a small acreage in Carnation. A young couple, Samantha and Xander, are knowledgeable winemakers and are producing some fine wines. They have created a relaxing environment for wine tasting. Check out Orenda for your next wine tasting destination. Plus, the facilities and acreage appear to be a great venue for events.

I came here for the grand opening party and enjoyed their wine and the grounds are truly beautiful. They took me back to my many visits to Napa when I lived in NorCal.
The bummer was that their pours were not friendly. In two stations, people pouring the wine made errors (not pouring the right wines and marking that they did) which is fine, but it created some confusion. And in that confusion, they didn't trust the wine tasters. I believe this was very unprofessional and not smart for a budding business as it gave off very bad vibes.
In every station, I was poured less wine than the two

We went here after an afternoon of berry picking as it was closeby to the farm we had been at. We were so happy we did! The grounds are really pretty, the owners are friendly and knowledgeable, and the wines were delicious!
The tasting included 6 different wines for $10 (waived with a bottle purchase), and they even brought us some complimentary cookies to enjoy too! Or favorite was the Merlot, but we thought the 4 reds were all notably good!
Definitely a nice spot to enjoy some good wine and lovely people!

Wow! beautiful! we had such an amazing time at the grand opening this afternoon. we came with everyone from kids, to adults, to seniors. the wine is delicious with unique flavors that we all enjoyed. there wasn't one tasting we didn't love. we left with a couple more bottles to take home and we will definitely be back again. The band was great and the snacks were yummy. The owners and staff are all so friendly and thoughtful... from the way they treated every individual guest to the way they decorated with purpose. we had such a nice time walking around just enjoying the beautiful grounds
