We were two young, dumb high school sweethearts who took a chance in 2017 to pursue a dream that started with Mikayla's passion for baking and decorating, with the help and support of Marco! By now the majority of our dear customers know us by name and know that we are the power couple that make everything in store from our famous almond croissants to our hard to keep in stock macaroons!
We are still figuring things out and learning a lot on this journey, but we hope that one day all our hard work will pay off! We hired Artesa Bakery for our wedding- and let me just say- we 100% are extremely pleased with Mikayla and her work. Since day 1 of communication, she has been so helpful and patient with us. Really working to make sure our cake and cupcakes are what we envisioned. The cake testing was easy and yummy, the effort she put in to make sure we got what we wanted was beyond what I expected. Most importantly, the cake and cupcakes were beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend hiring Artesa Bakery for all of your bakery goodies! Thank you for everything!

I honestly have no words, this bakery is amazing! A word of warning don't venture into here if you're hungry, you will want to buy one of everything! The owner is so warm and kind, and an extremely talented baker. She pulled off these amazing cakes from my wife's birthday with very little notice (2 days), and were some of the best cakes we've ever had! I highly recommend to anyone!

We had our cake tasting with them yet the other day and everything was delicious! The staff was so friendly and helpful! It was an AMAZING experience and very reasonably priced. So excited to see the finished products!

Artesa Bakery is wonderful! My fiancé has gotten two of my birthday cakes and a Valentine’s Day cake from here and each time they have been insanely delicious! Mikayla (the owner) even made a Sailor Moon cake for me. We love this place so much we’re having them make our wedding cake and treats for our sweets table this fall! Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about Artesa Bakery!

What a gem! My 11 year old daughter attended a cupcake decorating party here with her Girl Scout troop and had a blast. She even came home with half a dozen cupcakes, in all different flavors (which were delicious). I also bought a donut, an almond croissant, and a pistachio croissant (which were also phenomenal). I'll be back soon for more pastries, and maybe an espresso!

I visited Artesa Bakery on a Saturday morning hoping to get gender reveal cupcakes that were needed the next day for a gender reveal party. My procrastinating self was scrambling to find a bakery that would be able to fulfill my wishes. Unfortunately, because I had waited so late to put in an order, the soonest they'd be able to fill my order would be Tuesday of next week. Seeing my desperation, the woman who was working there quickly thought of another alternative- she happened to have extra mini cupcakes from a recent previous order that she could have decorated and ready for me to pickup

This has to be one of the best bakeries in Northern Illinois as a whole. It's a shame that I don't see a lot of people in the store. The food tastes great and has prices that are consistently below my expectations, and above all the owner seems like a nice person. I have to personally recommend the apple turnover. The filling is great, with enough apple chunks in it for it to taste high quality but not too much where it is jarring. It's also close by to a Meijer, so you can have a snack after you get your groceries. Every time I go by there's only a few other people in the

The original owner moved, I wish I could give this bakery 5 stars like previous reviews, however I had a birthday cake ordered from here, the presentation was 5 stars. The taste was ok however it was dry around the edges of the cake while moist in the middle. I travel a distant for this cake because this bakery did my wedding cake, I wasn't happy, and probably will not return. I give Customer service is 5 stars. I was stuck with a whole cake nobody wanted because of the dryness and it wasn't cheap.

I used Artesa Baking for my bridal shower, bachelorette party and wedding. Martha, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful with picking out the perfect cake and desserts for my events. My bachelorette was in Nashville, and they made the cutest cowboy boot cookies. I had a two tier cake and sweets table at my wedding. When my husband and I cut our cake to taste it, it was delicious!! We kept wanting to have more!! The sweets table was a huge hit at our wedding. This review is based on customer service and one little gluten free cupcake! I stopped in today to pick out a cake for an upcoming shower. Martha, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating in helping me pick out the perfect cake. While I was sitting at the cute table with her, I spotted one lone chocolate gluten free cupcake behind the glass counter. I couldn't concentrate on picking out a cake because I just wanted that cupcake! Martha kindly obliged me:). " Dry and stale " should be this business tagline, and it appears I am not the only affected customer and it appears the owner doesn't care. Well gosh damn it, throw out what you don't sell daily or sell at half price next day...At least this way your customers know what they are paying for. Please I really want to return but I won't if the freshness factor is not addressed....Amazing still in 2016 business!!!!

This is the very best you can get. The baked goods are outstanding and always fresh. The customer service is beyond great. I am an espresso bar caterer and my clients love Martha's recipes. I always get fresh, beautiful and very tasty items. I had an order that I needed on Monday night for pick up (closed on Mondays). Martha went in and baked the items on her day off so that my clients would have fresh goods. Thank you Martha for your hard work!

My favorite thing there are the Columbian turnovers. They are filled with pineapple and bacon, sweet & savory. The only problem is that because of their uniqueness they aren't a huge seller so they don't always make them. the only way I can guarranty getting them is to order them ahead of time. Which I do

Went this Sunday to bakery, this bakery had 3 different flavored cupcakes a couple of cookies and cinnamon rolls. We get cupcakes and cinnamon rolls, get home cupcakes are hard and dry and when I say hard I mean hard my daughter couldn't even chew it. Everything we bought was stale, couple days old . Didn't bother going back... Just won't go back.

A quaint atmosphere where you can sit and eat their wonderful baked goods . I came in for the gluten free items for my best friend . I met the baker who explained everything is baked fresh daily . The gluten free cookies were amazing ! The non gluten items were truly fresh and moist . I will be a regular patron . This is what Homer Glen has needed for a long time- a great bakery ! Between the kolacky & chocolate chip coffee cake I was hooked ! Good luck to Artesa Bakery

Very disappointed in the cannoli I bought here. It wasn't even full of the filling so basically I got a cannoli shell and a little filling. I hate when you pay for quality bakery goods and you don't get them. It wasn't cheep. I called the store and all the owner said was I'll tell the girl who fills the cannoli to make sure she fills them all the way. A lot of good that does me now. She didn't even offer to replace the cannoli. Bad customer service. :(

I went here a week ago for the first time attempting to support a new local business. I asked if they had any brownies and was directed to a bowl of individually wrapped brownies on the side counter. The total for 2 brownies was a little over $5. When I came home and took a bite out of the brownies about an hour later, they were both very dry and stale.
As a courtesy, I called the bakery to let them know that the brownies they have are stale. Was told " ok thanks" and then a hang up .
I could only assume the brownies are not made fresh or maybe not even made at this location
