The Camden Center is a team of nationally-recognized Medical Doctors, Psychotherapists, and Integrative Medicine specialists who have been recruited as experts in their field to work with our patients. Unlike most treatment facilities, The Camden Center is a medical organization established and operated by physicians, and is founded on the principles of clinical excellence, compassionate care, and respect for our patients.
Each patient receives a personalized treatment program based upon a comprehensive assessment and ongoing weekly meetings with their Program Manager. Through these assessments, every aspect of a patient's recovery is addressed. Psychological conditions often do not respond to simple, one-dimensional approaches.

When emotional injuries are unable to heal on their own, they predispose us to the development of depression, anxiety, and addictive disorders. This is particularly true of emotional injuries resulting from traumatic events or chronic stressful experiences from our childhood.
The goal of psychodynamic psychotherapy is to heal these types of emotional injuries and gain insight into the way they affect our current patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior. At The Camden Center, psychodynamic psychotherapy typically involves multiple individual session each week with an experienced and caring psychotherapist.

Because of the reciprocal emotional bonds that exist between us and our family members, there is often tremendous value in involving the family in the recovery process. Many times, the symptoms of the individual who presents for treatment stem from a dynamic that exists within the family. When this is the case, working on repairing the family dynamic can be a crucial component of healing the individual.
Trauma is a fact of life. Most of us, not just soldiers or victims of violence, have been traumatized at some point in our lives.
The sources of trauma are wide-ranging; these include natural disasters, exposure to violence, accidents, falls, serious illness, sudden loss of a loved one, medical and dental procedures, childhood injuries, neglect or abuse, difficult births, and even high levels of stress and/or toxicity during gestation in the womb.Any event that engenders a sense of helplessness may be experienced as trauma.

Practiced for over 2,500 years in China, acupuncture is part of a holistic system of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on the philosophy that Qi (pronounced "chee") or life energy, flows through the body. Qi helps to animate the body and protect it from pain and disease. When Qi flows freely throughout the body, one enjoys physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

I am a psychiatrist who has had the opportunity to refer clients to the Camden Center. It offers a treatment program for addiction that should be the gold standard in addiction care everywhere. It offers a humanizing approach that abandons shame and blame, instead focusing on the strength and value of each client. It moves far beyond the standard "people, places, and things" approach with a unique focus on emotional triggers.
Clients return to my care with a treatment plan that extends well beyond the first months of early recovery - with a roadmap to emotional healing that aims to cure addiction

CAMDEN - which is the program name for the individual therapists and psychiatrist who make this program the salvation that it is. The therapists are the best of the best. They truly accept you with no judgment, meet you where you are, and will bend over backwards to adjust your program/sessions to make your individual and group sessions what you need them to be. Whether you are dealing with addiction and/or major depression, Camden is the place to be. I am grateful for everyone at the program, the honest people who attend and support you, and the kind, professional & exceptional therapists

I was a patient at the Camden Center for treatment of depression, anxiety, and addiction issues. Before going to the Camden Center, I had been sober for 6 years but relapsed after my mother died. After her death the depression and anxiety became so unbearable I stopped being able to work, I pulled away from my friends and I eventually relapsed. When I got sober the first time 6 years ago, my treatment just focused on the addiction and did not address the issues underneath my depression and anxiety which came roaring back when my mom died. My experience at the Camden Center was very different and

Quite honestly the Camden Center is far and away one of the best addiction and dual diagnosis treatment facilities in California. Not only does this place help you get sober, but they help you heal the emotional and psychological wounds that drive you toward drug and alcohol abuse, and set you on a path to true recovery. Everyone I interacted with including but not limited to Lindsey, Sarah, Jillian, Noah, Lisa, Dave, and Cat were exceptional. Last but not least Dr. Schiffman is an amazing human being who truly cares about all of his patients, and raises the bar when it comes to addiction medicine

As a clinician, I have referred many people to the Camden Center over the past few years. The care and consideration they give to every individual, regardless of whether they become clients or not, is remarkable. The clinical and administrative staff at Camden are kind, compassionate, tough, and amazing. They truly look beyond the diagnoses and see the individual person and tailor their treatment appropriately. They truly understand that addiction is a symptom of a larger issue that needs to be treated.
In addition, I have had the opportunity to work directly with their founder, Dr Jason Schiffman

My motivation for writing this review is to give thanks this Holiday season. I am thankful for our youngest son's ongoing recovery from drug addiction and also the person and place that made it all possible. I am referring to the Camden Center in Los Angeles and its medical director Dr. Jason Schiffman. To say that he was responsible for saving my son's life is not an exaggeration. My wife and I are both physicians who learned the hard way that mental health service providers for addiction vary wildly in quality and competence. Finding experts who are ethical, competent and most importantly

I am profoundly grateful to The Camden Center. They helped my daughter through one of the most difficult times of her life. My husband and I had researched for countless hours and made endless phone calls to treatment centers that ultimately refused to treat her. We had begun to lose hope before reaching Sarah. Sarah worked closely with the owner, Dr. Schiffman, to determine how to best treat our daughter. Sarah and Dr. Schiffman consulted with us until our daughter was ready to try treatment. We never expected our daughter to agree to go to treatment. After meeting with Dr. Schiffman, our daughter

My husband and I somehow by the grace of g-d stumbled onto Jason Schiffman and The Camden Center a little over 4 years ago. Honestly I thank my lucky stars. We had a son struggling with either mental illness and or addiction. Dr Schiffman is beyond smart but most important he's caring, honest, kind and understanding. His IOP - (Intensive Out Patient) is THE BEST. If you or a loved one is struggling with mental illness this is your place. Highly recommend. Happy to report my son is doing very well, we have had our bumps along the way, but I know the worst is over.

I am both a clinician in private practice and the parent of a client previously treated at Camden Center.
Camden Center is an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Center) and one of the few, in the Los Angeles area, that treats individuals living with mental illness.
Dr. Jason Schiffman, the Chief Medical Officer and founder of the Camden Center is one of the best psychiatrists I know in the Los Angeles area.
Dr. Schiffman is an excellent diagnostician. What stands out for me however, is his humanity towards my son who has suffered from mental illness for a decade. He treated my son with compassion
