Schmitty & Sons began back in 1941 when Wilfrid Schmitt "Schmitty" began driving for the Orchard Lake Co-Op, a local transit company. Our mission has remained the same since 1952. Schmitty & Sons began back in 1941 when Wilfrid Schmitt "Schmitty" began driving for the Orchard Lake Co-Op, a local transit company. In 1952, Schmitty purchased his bus and started transporting children for Lakeville Schools. This tradition of excellence has allowed the company to expand and prosper throughout the years.
Schmitty & Sons is a robust provider of safe and dependable school bus transportation for independent school districts 194 (Lakeville) and 191 (Burnsville, Eagan, and Savage). Whether it's type III, type A, or regular educational transportation services, we exceed each individual's needs by efficiently transporting students to and from school and school events to support our youth community in furthering their education.

My daughter's last day of school was today and about 2 hours after she was dropped off, I saw a school bus pull up to the house. The driver, Lou, got out and handed me her yearbook. I shaked his hand and thanked him. He didn't have to do that but that tells you all you need to know about this company and the people that work for them!

We found out about Schmitty & Sons through a recommendation and utilized them for a conference outing. We ended up working directly with Kathryn, who was the director of sales, and she was incredible to work with. She was really well organized and had high attention to detail, so we felt confident with everything. Schmitty & Sons worked directly with the hotel venue and helped coordinate everything. Overall, excellent customer service and I will definitely use them again for a bus charter service!

Our driver was so courteous and made sure we did not get wet from the rain! The next day we got a call from the office that we left a stroller and bouquets on the bus. The office staff put the bouquets in water to keep them from drying out. There was also an expensive brooch (pin) on the bride's flowers that they made sure was safe. Thank you so much!!
