The mission of the Hays Hawk Band program is to achieve the highest standards of music education and music performance; facilitate the musical enrichment of the student membership of Hays High and its feeder schools; promote the place and value of music in our community and the significant role music plays in the cultural, intellectual, and social lives of young adults; foster fellowship and goodwill among its members; and provide its membership with opportunities for personal growth and leadership.
Services
Each instrument has special needs, tendencies, and we partner with some of the finest trained professionals in their fields. There is no substitute for taking lessons with an individual who performers or specializes on a specific instrument, and we work to find the best fit for each of our band members.
Become a Band Booster Member! The Hays Band Boosters organization is dedicated to support the students, directors, and the mission of the band program as they strive towards the highest level of curricular and artistic goals in music education and performance. Booster meetings will be held at 6:30 PM on the first Tuesday of each month from September-May (except December).
Our Mistletoe Market is coming back! Join us for vendor booths of all kinds (crafts, jewelry, food, clothes, candles, games, etc.), hot cocoa, tamale sales, a silent auction, and Santa, of course. Tamale Sales are now going! Available online until 11/28/21 and ready for pick up at the Hays High School Music Building on 12/04/21 from 12:00pm-5:00pm.

Over 9,200 Hays County children are food insecure.
Aaron Collins currently serves as the Associate Director of Bands at Hays High School. Mr. Collins is a recent graduate from The University of Texas at San Antonio where he studied under the instruction of Ron Ellis, John Zarco, Eugene Dowdy and Joseph Cooper. As a student at UTSA, Mr. Collins performed with the UTSA Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Spirit of San Antonio marching band, San Antonio Wind Symphony as well as sang in the UTSA Men's Choir.
