Derived from co-owner Danny Turner's allergies and sensitivities to wheat, gluten, and dairy, Pushkin's Bakery and its products are the result of co-owner Olga Turner's dedication to create wholesome and delicious all-natural baked goods all while excluding wheat, gluten, and dairy. What started as a single chocolate chip cookie for a friend's birthday party soon turned into three products sold in a single grocery store.
From there, Olga and Danny soon found themselves delivering their baked goods to fourteen different grocery stores throughout Northern California. With a passion to continue creating new baked goods and a feeling of absence with their consumers, the Turners decided to open their first retail location.

It means that our customers are guaranteed that their baked goods from us, which are always wheat/gluten and dairy-free, will never come in contact with any of those ingredients while in our facility. Because when we claim wheat/gluten and dairy-free we are making a promise to our customers. We source all our ingredients solely from gluten-free manufacturers and only allow those ingredients into our facility.

Got the Noble tofu sandwich without pickles and with avocado and it was so so good. They are super nice and it only took five minutes to get the sandwich made. The man who made it was nice, he did a good job. The cashew jack cheese is kinda tuna melt tasting but it's really good. Lots of lettuce which is perfection.
The German something cookies were also sooo good. Like had to come back a few hours later and get more good.

I went to Midtown Pushkins today about 30 minutes ago and ordered 2 vegan sandwiches and 2 vegan pastries.
I had a mask with me but not on because I was having a rough morning so I was offered to purchase my food outside which was great.
I started eating my Portbella Cruiser [vegan] Sandwich and on my third bite into the sandwich I tasted an old familiar product. As my nose was in right there next to it when I bite down, I realized it is in my mouth. It was BACON. I saw the bacon and realized I had just had bacon. I cried!! I'm still crying!!
I spit my food out so that's why the

I'm so glad I found this place! I've been placed in a really strict diet by my nutritionist. This place really came in a clutch with gluten and dairy free options.
I'm not able to have cornstarch at the moment, so I ordered the banana bread and zucchini bread for myself. Both are delicious! Enjoyed a few slices with a cup of coffee from around the corner.
My husband, who is able to enjoy dairy, gluten and cornstarch, really enjoyed his cinnabun and blueberry coffee cake. He said he wouldn't have know it was gluten and dairy free with his cinnabun. The blueberry coffee cake

I'm fairly new to gluten free and it has been an adjustment! I've had their German tea cakes which I love, they're lemon poppy seed bite which is amazing, they're bread the round bread that they sell is great for making peanut butter and jelly at home (my granddaughter even liked it) and they're peppy sandwich is amazing.

I have been to Pushkin's more times then I can remember .They are so accommodating with gluten,daily, and nut allergies they also are great for vegans .The menu has so many delicious items.The people are so nice and friendly.I have had them even do a gender reveal witch turned out great.I love there cupcakes and sandwiches

I want to start by saying I'm neither GF nor vegan, I am vegetarian and just enjoy supporting inclusive eateries.
The woman that helped me was exceptional, she was so sweet and bubbly and willing to help me with fantastic recommendations. I always like to get a sampling of items whenever I visit a new bakery, she helped point out fan faves as well as her personal picks.
I also got a sandwich.
The baked goods were AMAZING. Enjoyable no matter your diet, a fantastic place to pick up sweets for a party to accommodate common dietary exceptions. My only complaint is that the frosting on everything

Craving vegan pastries? Oatmilk chai lattes? Vegan breakfast sandwich? I was. I dropped into Pushkin's to sit for an hour while my gf was at the hospital having a procedure done. The place was clean and the staff were super friendly. It's refreshing to find a place with warm, soft, fresh-baked pastries that I can indulge in. I bought a vegan breakfast sandwich call the BLVD. while it didn't knock my flavor socks off it was fresh and hearty and it hit the spot. I had an ice chai latte that was perfect. Dedicated gluten free, and their vegan items are clearly marked. They were courteous and service was prompt.
Got an assortment of baked goods; Cookies, cupcakes, bread, pastries. It was well worth the extra 20 minute drive to visit them. My companion got the 'Spicy Adult Grilled Cheese', he doesn't usually eat gluten free and he enjoyed the sandwich.
I do recommend getting or bringing a drink, some of the treats were a little dry- as many gf items can be.
There is only outdoor seating with umbrellas, the chairs are definitely not going to be comfortable for larger individuals, so plan accordingly

I needed to order a dairy free cake that was preferably gluten free for my daughter's birthday so I looked up Pushkins online. I was very surprised at the number of choices they had and they all looked absolutely gorgeous. After a lengthy discussion with my daughter to make sure I ordered the perfect one, we decided on a mixed berry ganache.
The person on the other end of the phone when I placed my order was very patient and helpful. I was able to place my order and get a pickup date and time of my own choosing. Easy peasy!

This was exactly what I was looking for when I was planning my friend's birthday celebration in the area. I'm from Indy but was visiting and searched desperately for a gluten free bakery for her birthday cake. I was even able to place my order from Indiana and pick a pick-up time that worked for us. :D
Pushkin's came highly recommended and I totally see why! I ordered their Mixed Berry Ganache cake with a chocolate base and it was amazingggg. It was so moist and perfectly sweet. The berries on it were all ripe and delicious, too. It was absolutely perfect and so reasonably priced

I'm not truly a pure vegan but I do enjoy a lot of vegan products. I guess I have gotten used to eating them because my sister must avoid gluten and dairy, or else! My boyfriend's granddaughter is also allergic to dairy & gluten, while her mother follows a vegan lifestyle. The place is on a cute side street, quaint, with some outdoor seating. They only allow a couple people in at once, so you may have to wait (it is a popular spot!).
There is a variety of coffee cakes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, cookies, sandwiches and drinks. I decided to get a coffee cake, the blackberry chocolate flavor based on recommendations by the friendly staff. ***This bakery specializes in gluten-free/dairy-free/vegan desserts (not all of the desserts here have this whole triad though so might want to check the official website for details on certain treats). When I think of gluten free bread, cake, muffins, etc., I think dry, dusty, tasteless and crumbly. Unless it's Pushkin's!

Right of 29th see next to revolution wines and the Sacramento co-op. Sometimes you can get street parking up front, but if not, I use the co-op lot.
DECOR:
Minimalistic and functional. There's not much to the bakery except the lobby which can hold 2 people at a time now with covid and the bakery in the back which makes up most of the bakery. There's no seating indoors.
PRICE:
I can't remember off top, but it's what you would expect

So if I found myself circling around the block I used to park in the CO-OP lot, if you don't intend to stay too long. Alternatively, you can park in the structure, too.
Pushkin's bakery has scrumptious baked goods to die for, in my opinion. The first time I tried it I was so pleased! I haven't found any other baked goods quite like theirs. Fluffy, texturized, and fresh. My favorite is the toasted almond

I had some time to kill before heading to the airport and took a chance on this place. They had vegan food and donuts on their menu so who was I not to see if it was tasty.
I highly recommend you try the spicy adult grilled cheese. The girl taking my order suggested I add marinated tofu to it and given my appetite I said sure. It was perfect and the right amount of filling.
The donuts are not all vegan but they had a good selection for the plant based inclined.

This place is absolutely delicious! I cannot wait to come back to try the other vegan/vegetarian sandos. Their freshly baked gluten-free bread is amazing!
After a nice meal, we were able to walk around and shop because their location is perfectly situated beside Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. If you are also craving some coffee or tea, Temple Coffee Roasters is only a minute walk away.
