Do you put off going to the MVA because you dread the lengthy waiting period? Fortunately for you, there is an alternative. We at Motor Car Tag & Title offer several of the services you find at the MVA without the wait. Our friendly staff has more than 15 years of combined experience in the proper registration and tagging of Maryland vehicles.
Do you have a new vehicle? Is your old vehicle a new addition to the State of Maryland? If so, it is likely that you may need new tags. It is required by law that all Maryland residents possess proper titles and tags for all of their vehicles. New tags are typically sent to owners after they purchase a new vehicle at a dealership in Maryland.
When you purchase a used vehicle in Maryland you are required to have a Maryland State Safety Inspection. If you are unable to obtain the safety inspection prior to titling and registering your vehicle the state of Maryland issues 30 day temporary tags. These tags allow you to drive legally for 30 days, in which time you are required to have the vehicle inspected.
A Certificate of title is a legal document that proves you own your vehicle, without it you are unable to sell or trade in your vehicle. The Maryland MVA no longer provides same day duplicate titles. If you order a duplicate title from the MVA whether on-line or in person, you will receive the title in the mail.
Having up-to-date vehicle registration is essential for driving legally in Maryland and in the United States. Vehicle registration proves that you have paid the necessary taxes and fees for your vehicle and that you're properly insured. If your registration has expired, or if your vehicle isn't registered at all, you could be facing a fine or even imprisonment.

I think this was our third or forth visit to this shop - we hate dealing with the MVA and this alternative is the way to go. No lines, people who are nice and professional. Far cry from dealing with the MVA ! Any time I need ANYTHING related to auto tags, titles,, what ever - I'd go back to them. Thank you for the service !

If there is one place that deserves more than 5 stars, this is it. I have used this place twice and have been in and out in less than 10 mins each time. If you value your time, this service is worth it. Yes it costs more than just going to the MVA, you are paying for your life back! I just showed up with a signed title, inspection, and a bill of sale and handed to the nice lady. She told me to sign in two spots, I paid, they handed me my tags. What you pay for is them filling out all the paperwork, and the zero wait time. For me, it is a small price to pay to have an hour of my life back and not

This is the second time I’ve went to motor car tag and title. They make the process actually enjoyable. They are quick and efficient. Everyone is so professional and knowledgeable. Especially with the pandemic, not having to stand in line or make an appointment at the MVA is worth so much to me as a stay at home mom, knowing I can be in and out and not having to cart my kids to sit around for hours. Everything others have said about customer service here is true. One of the cashiers gave me some wrong information--she was new, everyone makes mistakes--and the manager was very generous and considerate in making it right. I realize not everyone can afford an extra fee for services, but I found the convenience, speed, and personal attention to be worth it.

Processing my vehicle tags and title fast and efficient, they got me done less than 15 minutes once I walked into the place with no appointments necessary. First time trying out this place after seeing it for so long and the $60 service fee is well worth it to me comparing to waiting at MVA for hours and required to have an appointment too. It's most efficient if you have a clean vehicle title with no lien on it as I got my clean out-of-state title processed. This is the place to go to for faster process if you don't want to wait in line at the MVA for vehicle tags & titling.

THEY PROMISED and THEY DELIVERED!! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The staff are really great communicators, and my duplicate title was ready for p/u in 48 hours! There's plenty of parking directly in front so parking is a breeze. Drive to this location even if it's a few miles out of your way. You'll be happy you did.

Reading all these 5 star reviews I expected nothing less than a 5 star experience. However that was not the case, so I just want let everyone know to AVOID the eldery white male that works there. I was polite and straightforward in telling him what type of service I needed then halfway through he bluntly cuts me off gives me something completely different then what I had requested. After much explaining to him he begrudgingly gave me the correct order. Long story short make an appointment with the DMV and save the extra fee they chrage or just go to a different tag and title. Drive safe everyone

If you value your time and sanity, make sure to utilize the services at Motor Car Tag & Title. I called with what I thought was a complicated case. I was told "no problem" and given the list of documents I needed to bring in. We were greeted nicely when we arrived, and everything went smoothly--we left with registration, tags on the spot, and title will be mailed. Given how reasonable the price is, the professionalism of the staff, and the efficiency of service, there is no reason to go to MVA for these services. Highly recommend!
