Forgive me for being gross, but I have to tell you my favorite way to judge a Jewish-style deli. It's by how much you enjoy the post-meal burps. And the new JJ's Delicatessen at Pinnacle Peak and Scottsdale Road rates high on the burp-o-meter! It's been open since July in the spot once occupied by Kashman's.

They have a huge variety of eggs, omelettes, salads and sandwiches.
The Matzo Ball soup is stupendous!

My friend was raving about this casual deli, so we came here for some breakfast. We ordered at the counter and got the grilled ham and brie on challah bread, the lox platter with a toasted everything bagel, some coffee, chai tea, a lox spread shmear with a toated garlic bagel, and a BLT on white bread with a side of German potato salad.

I love this place. The breakfast burrito is mammoth & the bagels are the freshest. The outdoor patio provides a warm spot for entertaining people watching. However, it’s the team that makes JJ’s such a stellar experience - Lupe, Freddie, Jason, Oscar, the entire crew - they always welcome you with warmth, humor, and kindness. You genuinely feel like part of the family.

They used to call me deli boy. When I was a kid living in NY, I'd frequently run away when I was upset and head to a nearby deli where I'd eat a delicious, fluffy, authentic sesame seed NY bagel (light cream cheese) before I'd eventually return home.
Years later, in Arizona, I had a similar urge to run away a couple times, but I did not have a deli to escape to. I've tried "NY bagels" in AZ but they are fake news- truly not the same. I was convinced the discrepancy in fluffiness had something to do with the water.

Stopped here for a lunch while on vacation. The sandwich menu is insanely large - and they are all $12.50 and come with a little 2oz solo cup of side dish of choosing. The sandwiches were just ok - nothing I'd go back for and kind of expensive for what they were. We did get an everything bagel - which was fresh and fluffy. I'd come back for just the bagel - and would do the Sicilian Butcher for sandwiches 10/10 times.

Came here late Saturday morning after a pumpkin patch trip. Been a long time since we have been here. Previously it was really good to. This time was no exception.

As busy as it seemed our breakfasts and salads were out fast. Talk about a full plate, large servings and very filling. I had the Huevos Rancheros. It was a little different from most Huevos I have had in the past but I would have this one again any time! Not sure what was on the potatoes but they were soooo good! Loved it all.

This place is awesome! Staff is very friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk in. Their menu is huge, but I can't stop ordering the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich. It's epic!! Really one of the best sandwiches that I've had. Someday I'll bring myself to order something different.

Not a big deal, but everything on the menu is now $12.50 for sandwiches and salads. I tried a chicken cheesesteak and this was a semi impressive sandwich packed with white chicken and onions and peppers and the twist of mozzarella cheese on top. It comes with ranch which I declined, but needed mayo or something. The slaw on the side ran out after the first half of the sandwich, but still a good lunch to go in a nicely sports decorated dining room.

Another wonderful lunch at JJ's!! My husband loves their Rueben sandwich there- I usually get their Lox with a bagel!! Today, I tried something new and had their chicken & Tuna salad! It was beautifully prepared and had such fresh ingredients!! It's a place we enjoy because it's always delicious and the service is always so friendly!! Well done!!

First time here today. This place is really really good. Everything from the nice man holding the door open for me and giving me a menu to the order taker for helping us place our order. Super friendly employees! It's a large menu. Actually its a huge menu and a little daunting on what to order. I opted for the Reuben with pastrami along with a side of coleslaw. Hubs ordered the Santa Fe chicken sandwich with German potato salad. Our sandwiches were delicious! Meat was hot, bread was fresh and seasoned well. Portions are huge so prepare yourself for a take home box or sharing one sandwich

Sent my son to buy a dozen bagels and I got 11 bagels. Not consistent sizes.
I didn't even bother to complaint since the bagels were sub-par... in fact, I prefer the other Bagel place that's franchised nearby since it actually had taste. The spread was strange and wet. I don't know if we came at a bad time or it's always like that. But I don't even want to waste my money to give them another chance. It's too bad, we buy so much bagels to treat family and bring to the office. And the place is so close to us.

A proper deli all the way out here in the desert. I am thrilled to have found this place and will be back again and again. We had a bagel sandwich and an egg and potatoes breakfast. Best bagel I have had not on the east coast. There are many choices, and they have the right mix of crispy outside and tender inside. JJ's potatoes are delicious and the oat toast was super.

Instantly greeted when we walked in. Staff is friendly and ready to take your order. Ordered the corned beef hash with 3 eggs over easy and the southwest omelette with potatoes. Definitely great tasting food. You get a lot of food for the price. Will be returning to this deli before I leave Arizona.

First time here at JJ's Deli in North Scottsdale. You can probably spend 30 minutes reading the entire menu on the chalk board. They provided a copy of the menu and opted for an egg with bagel and sausage on a fresh sesame bagel.
They have an open coffee bar with unlimited coffee. Great outside patio and excellent service. Had breakfast inside and coffee on the patio. Got to try this one again.

I attended a meet up here and it's my first time at JJ's. Let me tell you this place is bustling! They do offer take out and outside dining as well as some tables inside. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Deli foods served hot, cold, fresh and big!! We had a party of 8 and everyone's food looked and from what I've heard tasted delicious.
I ordered a knish which I haven't had in probably 20 years. It is a pastry that has potato filling and they have several different ones to choose from. It was incredible!

Coming from the New York/New Jersey area, I find it nearly impossible to get a decent bagel in this town. JJ's Delicattesen is the closest I found thus far to a real NY bagel! I haven't had a NY bagel in over 22+ years so maybe my taste buds forgot, but JJ's delivers on quality, taste, and texture! I got my favorite toasted salt bagel with veggie cream cheese Chewy on the inside and just enough crunch on the outside. Yummy

I'm just disappointed. I ordered a monte cristo. Not everyone has one on their menu and it's an over the top sandwich so I see a monte cristo, I order a monte cristo.
Jj's monte cristo doesn't come with the standard jam that is a defining feature of the sandwich. The monte cristo is ham, turkey, cheese, and then fried. The berry jam provides the acidity needed to cut through the savory brick of two meats plus cheese. Jjs also didn't come with powdered sugar so over all the sandwich was a bland single note.
The sandwich weirdly came with a ketchup mayo mix. My container
