I love this bakery and would go more often if we lived closer (or got out of work earlier!). As it is, I make the drive from Live Oak to New Braunfels on as many Saturdays as possible to get a few treats for me and my husband.
I have never had a pastry or bread there I didn't enjoy, but some sweet favorites are the pudding pretzel, bear claw, blueberry cream cheese, and cherry turnover. I always get a couple of oval brötchen (oval rolls) which transport me back to the years we lived in Germany (Air Force brat). Pretzels are great as well. As someone who has Czech as a large part of

My friend and I get together for breakfast on a frequent but irregular basis. With Omicron now making the rounds we drove past our regular first choice as its parking lot was quite full. Uwe's, on the other hand, had few people dining in. Although they don't serve meals, we did assemble a semblance of breakfast with sausage kolaches and sweet rolls, plus coffee. And since there was no crush of people, we could enjoy conversation without feeling pressed to leave quickly. Uwe's had signs posted warning they were short handed and requesting courtesy for the staff, which we were happy to provide. The

My wife and I came pretty late in the day and they still had about half the counter full of baked goods. They told us early in the morning that it's completely full so we're definitely planning on coming back then. We got a couple items to try and I loved everything. My wife fell in love with their campfire cold brew.

I've been wanting to try their goodies for a while and stopped in today. From the moment I entered, the gal behind the counter was not friendly. I ended up getting two items and leaving. I told her it was my first time in and excited but she didn't care. Handed me the items, no smile. I saw they had a sign up looking for help and I hope it's to replace her because I'm not coming back to that and I'd imagine other customers aren't charmed by it either. Edit- just looked at the receipt and her name is Bryanne.

If you miss being stationed in Germany, are German, or patently love good Pretzels, brotchen, apple strudel, apple danish, Challah bread and there is so much more..... I beg you to stop here. We are in SA and we have a list of places in New Braunfels we get every other week. Uwes is pretty great and really authentic. We were stationed over there for three years. This place is amazing! So is the staff, they are kind, thoughtful and so helpful. Can't wait to go back.

Who doesn't love a small town bakery?! I also pass by but never go in, so I decided to change that. And to my surprise not only is this a bakery, but you can also dine in! They have traditional German entrees, sandwiches, and dishes. Note that they are closed on Sundays but opened all the other days of the week. If you are ever wanting to try this place, stop by and support a local bakery!

Very quaint and rustic establishment. Nice assortment of German pastries. I ha apple strudel (2.99) and wife had crusty bread roll with butter (1.29). Both were great. Coffee was okay. Service was very good. Our person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Also go a loaf of German rye bread sliced(4.50). Total with 20% tip was only $13.50. Will come back

As soon as you walk through the door, the smell of the bakery absolutely sweeps you away. But be careful, if you stay in here too long, you’ll go home smelling like baked goods!
The menu is the perfect size, with an awesome choice of sandwiches, wraps, soups & salads, and even authentic German items (I recommend trying the Reuben and the chicken salad sandwich). All of the breads for the sandwiches are made in house, as well as the dressings and mustards, and they are absolutely delicious! đŸ˜‹

UWE's Bakery & Deli.. What else can be said. First, I will be honest and mention that I have not eaten at or partaken in the "Deli" side of things, I will say the breads look and smell amazing. The service has always been great even through COVID, I stop in every time I go through New Braunfels, and get my mom a slice of German Chocolate Cake (Its the best in the area), as I will have to find a new mom because my mom will disown me if I don't. I have other pastries there and all are quite good.

I was recommended this little bakery by friend. Such a lovely display of fresh baked goods.
I ordered several rolls, chocolate croissant, something with custard inside and best of all, a little onion roll. This was my favorite. We were hoping to eat lunch there but they aren't for only serving pastries. Next time I'll try the Reuben. And of course I'll be getting that onion pastry again. Best of all it was very very affordable. If you're in the area you should stop in and stock up.

First time experience was great! I've heard so many good things about the delicious pastries especially the bear crawls! Customer service was good. We also had breakfast. Breakfast was delicious! I had the potato pancakes with applesauce and the biscuits and gravy and a couple pieces of bacon. Both was delicious! I would definitely come back again!

1st time visit, reminded me of a old Germany Cafe of my time spent overseas. Great location, very friendly staff, delicious food. Took home some Bakery items to enjoy later an still taste like the came out the oven. A lot to choose from on the menu. Large eating area for big parties or a relaxing date. Offer military discount.

UPDATE: my family and I used to LOVE this place! Everything was fantastic, but the last time we went there weren't many German meal options- it's like they took a lot of them off the menu. While the pastries were still amazing, the actual meals tasted off. None of us enjoyed our meals and the eggs were weird looking- it looked like thin slices of cheese when there wasn't cheese in them. I heard they had issues with not being able to use grills or something, so I wonder then why they serve things that need to be cooked on a grill.
I'll definitely be back for the pastries, but
