In 2004, residents of the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village on Chicago's Southwest Side joined administrators from nearby Saint Anthony Hospital to address the critical lack of accessible health services in the area. They opened a community health center on South California Avenue called Esperanza, the Spanish word for "hope."
Since then, Esperanza has provided bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay. Our five sites in Brighton Park, Gage Park, Little Village, Marquette Park, and South Lawndale deliver care to over 35,000 patients each year from communities across the Southwest Side.

This is the only clinic in the area that I would refer anyone to. I no longer have a regular physician here. However, I am always treated with the utmost care and respect.
They are great at helping the community with sliding scale pricing for medical coverage which is amazing for anyone who cannot afford or cannot apply for health insurance.
Please do not go to the 26th street location. They are horrible there.
Also do not go to Brighton park it’s just as bad as 26th street.

I have no complaints about our brave doctors that work day & night during this pandemic, but I do have a complaint with the front desk workers. I went on 08/25/21 with my family as they had an appointment and so I took the time to ask them about why they keep rescheduling my appointment and it turns out that none of the doctors accepted my insurance and I have to switch doctors that will accept it. And I saw one of the front desk works shaking her head as if saying: “God… this person is dumb.” Like, I’m sorry are you bothered by something? And I know she was directing her little head shake

If there were less stars that’s what they would get… the doctor is great .. your staff answering phones is the worse I’ve ever dealt with.. they are rude won’t get you were you need and hang up on you was waiting for an hour and a half on the phone transferred all over and nothing .. I was scheduled at the hospital and was on the phone all this time while at the hospital..all your staff needs is training they deal with people all day long and they are not personable so sad.. maybe time to look elsewhere 😡

What type of clinic doesn’t call a patient’s family when the patient misses a doctors appointment for mental health. The clinic knew the patient was prescribed for suicidal ideation, but the patient didn’t disclosed to the family . The diagnosis/ action plan for the patient called for alerting the family incase of suicidal ideation. But the clinic had no emergency contacts for the patient! What world do we live where we can give psych meds telehealth and no emergency contact! Blood is in your hands Juan Mercado

I have no complaints about the service the providers provide. Sometimes they are delayed, but they've always been gracious enough to let me know they are running behind. My issue lies with the receptionists and whoever is handling appointments. I have had an appointment rescheduled twice now, and at first, no one had told me my appointment was rescheduled, and then no one called me to let me know that my appointment was switched over to Telehealth until I called MYSELF. The wait times on the phone are ridiculous, I don't get to speak to a representative, and no one has called me to follow up with

Tried to register and make an appointment over the phone, got disconnected three times before I was able to get a hold of someone to set something up. Also, the phone appointment I was assigned wasn't for a whole two weeks, that's not even the real appointment. Highly disappointed.
Edit in response to owner: I know I don't need a physical appointment. I will gladly do a telehealth appointment. I just need a prescription refilled and waiting over two weeks is really screwing me over. You should ask more questions right away instead of trying to set up a question phone call a long ways away

I started going to this practice because I heard it was a good clinic. So far my experience with this clinic has been terrible. I've never been treated like this from providers before. One therapist I seen fell asleep on me in my session and was telling me I was her last patient and she was ready to go home, so I felt like anything I said after she wasnt really there listening and was dozing off and her eyes were closing on and off. And another doctor I've seen a few times makes me feel uncomfortable every time I visit because she complains about how she is tired, I end up waiting almost 2 hrs

I really like the doctors and nurses! I always communicate with my doctor via the website portal and they always answer me. The only problem is the wait, even if you get there 15m early, but honestly I think is always busy for a reason, great service, I don't mind the wait, worth it. Plus is very convenient that they have the pharmacy just inside the building.
