We have led innovative community-based preventive healthcare for over 100 years, designed from the beginning to provide Chicago's most vulnerable families and communities with access to affordable health care. In 1911, a series of "milk stations" were established across Chicago to provide nutritional support in order to combat high rates of infant mortality.
The "milk stations" evolved into well-child clinics, and IWS continued to grow and innovate. In 1924, IWS pioneered and incorporated child development and behavioral health counseling. In 1991, IWS began offering pediatric orthodontic care and in 1995, offering pediatric optometry.

0 stars!! This place has CHANGED a lot. I used to enjoy taking my daughters for dental work. Everyone used to be polite. About 2 years ago I notice a change in the dentist office . The front desk are un aware of procedures. Dr.Chen was very rude to me and my daughter. First screaming that we were late, but yet proceeded to check my daughter teeth. I told her If we’re late then reschedule us. If you didn’t want to deal with our lateness which was 10 min btw. We were late because the front desk had to verify our paper work. What a very unprofessional experience here. Horrible place don’t take

This place always over books appointments. They demand you be on time but make you wait. Ex; you have a 3 o'clock appt but don't get seen until 3:40, do your vitals, get sent to another room, and wait another 15-30 mins before you actually get seen by the doctor. The doctors are good but they gotta get their appointment scheduling together, if you're scheduled for 3 you should be seen by 3:10-3:15 and done by 3:30-4:00. Last time I had a 3 o'clock appt and was finished at 5:15 for a 10-15 min physical. Not enough doctors for all the appointments being booked. Either book less appointments or get

Billing department billed my son's last pediatric visit as a visit with a specialist so I was forced to pay twice the copay amount I usually would. It was just a regular visit so I don't understand why it was billed differently when the doctor he saw was the same doctor he has visited for each appointment. Unnecessary lab work was done that didn't follow routine protocols and lab work wasn't justifiable, that being said, insurance had me pay for most of the bill. We now have a new pediatrician at another facility to avoid any further billing complications with this clinic.

This place hasn’t been getting better for the appointments, it took me almost 2 months to try and get a vision test for my 1 year old. And the Dr. is rude and doesn’t know how to talk to people on the phone, especially making stupid comments of saying that my baby could have had covid- when she didn’t get it and well none of her daycare teachers or classmates have it yet, what the hell. Don’t call me making that stupid comment from 2 months ago. 😡 I will be changing clinics unbelievable.

My family has been coming to this clinic for a very long time. And there is always great service. The workers are kind and always help when there is an issue. It's a very family-friendly place which is useful so everyone can go there. Just in general a great doctors and nurses and every employee to be honest!

My 8yo went in for a root canal. Came out with a pulled tooth that won't grow in for 4 yrs. Didnt obtain informed consent or update on change in between. Wouldn't allow parent in rm with child, don't know what my child could have been subjected to. Never saw Sheila Hall DDS, only assistants entire time. Didn't put a spacer in, say they won't until… they do all crowns. Have no assurance same thing won't happen again. Applauded by this office and DDS doing what they want and telling families after just to get ppl in and out. Didn't give us the pulled tooth. Which is my child body part no matter

Great, clean and fast service, the nurse who gave my son shots was so patient and gentle with my 2 year old who was getting 4 shots! The pediatrician Dr Portella is amazing, she takes time to discuss my sons progress and any concerns, she goes above and beyond to treat my boys with the best care. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking.
