Since 1923 when the Berschler family began in funeral service at 537 Spruce Street and then at 730 Pine Street, the warmth and the feeling of being at a Jewish friend's home have been carried on for four generations.
From the early days of Benjamin and Jennie Berschler and his brother Joseph and Sarah Berschler to their children, David and Beatrice, Leonard and Berte and Albert and Joan working from the 4300 N. Broad Street location, the third generation, Howard Shenberg and Wendy Berschler Shenberg, daughter and son-in-law of Albert and Joan Berschler, and now their daughter Kimberly and her husband Scott, the fourth generation now continues this tradition with their parents.

More is learned about loss through the experience than through the preparation. Living may not provide preparation for survival. Handling grief resulting from the death of a loved one is a process that takes hard work. The fortunate experience of a happy life may not have built a complete foundation for handling loss.
You will want to gather all of the bills together and make sure you are aware of all the credit obligations of the deceased. Many installment loans, service contracts, and credit card accounts are covered by credit life insurance, which pays off the account balance in the event of the death of the customer.
Traditionally, life insurance companies require only two forms to establish proof of a claim: a statement of claim, and the certificate of death (or attending physician's statement). Remember, though, that this is just a general statement, and your insurance companies reserve the right to request further information or proof if they deem it necessary.
