The laws that govern your estate are complex. Too many estates land in probate proceedings because individuals did not have effective estate planning. Following a person's death, their assets are distributed in a legal process called probate. During this time, possessions and property are given to the appropriate people and estate debts are paid.
Following the passing of a loved one, the family often wishes for nothing more than to have time to grieve, collect their memories and legacies and move forward. However, this is often disrupted by the need to administer the estate. We take on the burden of estate administration. We work to alleviate the time, expense and stress associated with the process.

A guardian is assigned by the Probate Court in a case when a person is no longer able to care for or protect themselves. The court-appointed guardian then oversees the legal and financial affairs of the individual. Elderly family members, a person with a severe physical or mental disability or a minor under 18 years old may be in need of the protection a legal guardian provides.

I see why this place has a 2.5 star rating. Every phone call and email is a .4 or .6 hour charge. Initial retainer for guardianship was around $5k. Taneff said that usually covers it. Low and behold, another $3k later in charges after my final hearing. Now, the guardianship case was successful but $8k later?
The lack of communication after hiring a lawyer for that much money was insane. Almost no help or guidance was provided from the office during the process. This is all new to anyone going through this process for the first time and it would be nice for your own lawyer to show you the ropes

Tommy is fantastic at what he does! I could not be happier that he handled my younger brothers estate. Every thing was done on or before the time promised and with precision. I have to say that the service was just awful. Everyone at the firm was rude and sarcastic to me and my family. They repeatedly lectured us and asked for the same information multiple times. Their fees were exorbitant. When I challenged his fees, he said "either pay the fees or I will just go get the judge to approve them." I was stunned. I repeatedly tried to resolve this with him and they just kept blaming me for everything. I would steer clear of this firm. There are plenty of good probate attorneys in Columbus.

Well my experience is much like the others when dealing with Tommy Taneff. He was very nice at the beginning and gave us hope for adopting a child. He has a ton of experience in this area so I will say if you are ok with the way he speaks down to you and treats you poorly then go with him.
I called and left his office a voicemail. After speaking to Thomas he said I in fact did not leave a message and that is where things went bad.
