My wife and I moved to Hilton Head Island in 1979 and raised our three daughters here. We opened Captain Mark's Dolphin Cruises in 1983 and in the years since, I've captained more than 20,000 cruises for more than 500,000 tourists. I love showing people Hilton Head's waterways and sharing a bit about our history and wildlife.
Enjoy a relaxing, scenic, and informative excursion as you cruise through the calm inland waterways of Hilton Head Island. Narrated live by your experienced captain, our cruise takes you down Broad Creek and into Calibogue Sound, a 13-mile stretch of curving waterway that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Port Royal Sound.
Enjoy all the sights of Hilton Head's waterways and marshes as we cruise down Broad Creek into Calibogue Sound, connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Port Royal Sound. You can expect to see all sorts of local wildlife including Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and various seabirds flying overhead as we cruise past private plantations, marshes, coastal homes, and more.
Our Sport Crabbing Adventure aboard the Crabber J just might be the most exciting, exhilarating, and entertaining thing you could possibly do on your Hilton Head vacation! After a short cruise from Shelter Cove Harbour narrated by your experienced captain so you don't miss any sights along the way, the Crabber J anchors up in the shallow saltwater marshes of Hilton Head.
Harbourfest is jam-packed with fun activities, from live music, food vendors, face painting, and, of course, a dazzling fireworks display. And the best way to see this awesome light show is on Captain Mark's cruise!
We'll cruise through Hilton Head Island's inland waterways, and show you all the sights including Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, seabirds, private plantations and large mansions, the southernmost inhabited island, Daufuskie, and the famous Harbour Town lighthouse (with live narration from your captain, of course).

Captain Mark was nice and had a lot of historical information about the island and his little personal touches were nice to hear as well. We didn’t get to see too many dolphins but the few we did see he was able to stop the boat to see if they would resurface at all. The boat was very clean and nice to be on. Only drawback was the difficulty to finding the boat since that information wasn’t anywhere to be found when purchasing - but we were able to call and get the information!

My husband and I joined captain Mark's cruise on 10/12/2019.
We made 280 miles from another state to find out that almost no one allows pets on board, and we were extremely happy to find this tour, especially for such a low price.
The boat was clean, we had plenty of space to choose and captain's stories about the surrounding area were really interesting. We bought some drinks quite cheaply, and they gave a glass of ice to our pup for free.
This trip gave us a chance to have some rest, enjoy the views and have fun watching dolphins and we are grateful for it. It took almost two hours instead

We chartered a sunset Dolphin cruise for my daughter's wedding party rehearsal dinner pre game. Captain Mark was so accommodating. professional and informative on the cruise. We saw several dolphins and viewed a perfect sunset before he delivered us to our dinner destination. The boat was clean and the crew very hospitable. Thanks Captain Mark and the Holiday for a very memorable evening.

Went on the sunset cruise. I wasn’t expecting much, but the views were way better than anticipated! Captain Mark was a little “punny” for my taste but interesting and informative. He actually spent a significant amount of time circling areas where there were dolphins sighted so everyone could get a good look. The vessel was exceptionally clean and well-kept, even the restroom. Very positive experience and reasonable price. Only drawback might be the wayfinding to dock C .... took some looking as there is not much signage if you don’t know the marina.
