Joe Pegoraro opened up Pegoraro Auto Repair back in March of 2006. Joe previously worked for a dealership and became tired of someone else always benefiting from the fruits of his labor. This is when he decided to leave and work for a smaller company. He really enjoyed his time working for a smaller company, but they hit slow times and had to lay Joe off.
We've been using this shop for a few years now and they have been nothing but fantastic. Their repairs come with a 2 to 3 year warranty (depending on what is being done) and their customer service and response time is really great. Any repair work they have done for us has always held up and our vehicles all run well.

Residents of Lake Shore dont have much in auto repair shops. In fact, there is a lack of quality auto repair in Clark County. Lake Shore residents dont have to drive down to Portland or up to Seattle for quality auto repairs. Just a stones throw away is Pegoraro Auto Repair in Vancouver. They seem friendly enough, but will over charge.
I brought my vehicle in for a coolant leak which they found the issue to be a crack in the radiator. They then quoted $1,500 to put in a new radiator. I also needed new struts and shocks put in, to which that was quoted that by itself at $2,200.
Seemed pretty high so I called around to some other shops, no one was asking for that high of a price.
Do yourself a favor and check out 'In and Out Auto' in Gladstone, OR. They charged a total of $1,700 for a new radiator, shocks and struts install (had my own parts already), new front brakes, and 4 new

I brought in my 99 Suburban for the check engine light and the radio working intermittently. It too 4 days to get the vehicle back. They did nothing. They said they couldn't fix the radio because it worked when they turned it on. Then they estimated $4,800 to repair the engine. The vehicle is worth about $3,000 and I had told them I didn't want to spend much money on an old truck. Pegoraro charged me over $270 to hook up their computer analyzer unit.
I said no, I wouldn't be paying them $4,800. As I drove home the radio would not work. Disgusting business!

Please dont go to this shop. Fraudulent work and non trustworthy. Diagnosed my subaru with a low compression motor and quoted 13,000 in repair. Come to find out a year later after saving up for a new motor I get it compression tested 1 last time and it has perfect compression and just need ignition coils..... please go somewhere else. I wouldn't trust these guys to change my oil.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality
I’m a single, retired, female who was in need of a quick fix on a headlight problem. They checked out my rig and took care of it quickly. Everyone was professional and helpful. I was so impressed that I will be taking my 4Runner back for brakes soon.

Any repair work they have done for us has always held up and our vehicles all run well. When I had to fight with my insurance company over a claim, they did everything in their power to help even though it took a lot of their time - and they never billed me for it or made me feel bad.
I highly recommend them. Ken and Kyle especially have gone above and beyond for us

These guys are professionals. This means, don't ask them to put on your part. There are many reasons why a shop doesn't like that. I have my own line on parts, and I get a commercial price. I will not pay an inflated shop cost for my part.
Since I know how the game works, the service guy straight up said, "That's how we make our money." I already knew this. I laughed and said they make their money on labor, not on bending me over on parts costs. He disagreed. Yes, they make some money on labor, but they make more by selling parts *over* the retail cost... And they buy at commercial prices.

Took my Subaru WRX 08, RED, in last week to figure out why my oil was burning so quick. When I went to pick it up,they told me :
I had hole in my radiator.
My heads needed to be rebuilt.
An oil leaking from the heads.
A new timing belt.
Leaking radiator fluid on the right side on bottom.
Total cost to repair it was $4000.
Obviously,I'm not going to put $4000 into a car,so my only option was to trade it in. I decided to get a second opinion at another mechanic in Portland.
He found NONEÂ of those issues wrong with my car.
What's actually wrong with my car:

Good honest work, great customer service. Kyle will do anything needed to get your work done correctly. Just had a complete motor rebuild on my 6.0 Powerstroke, took longer than expected but Kyle kept me informed and honest. A couple things were found to be re done after the repair, and they were more than happy to do whatever it takes to get it fully repaired. I would definitely recommend them.

Outstanding service, flexibility, and helpfulness. I would give them an extra star if I could.
We were driving into town in a 1988 22' Class B motorhome with an aftermarket engine conversion when it started acting up. We called a few places and when they heard what we had they were all unable to take us. But when I called Pegoraro the immediate response was "No problem!". We were able to drop the RV off that night and the next day they were very prompt with their communication and diagnosis.

I had these guys take a look at an older car I was giving to a relative who was taking it down towards California (paid $200). When I got back the list with all that was supposedly wrong with it was $4000. More than the blue book on the car. I had them do no repairs and instead took it to a trusted mechanic in another town (a bit of an effort to drive to my mechanic). Most of the stuff that Pegoraro listed were found to not need repair, and the few things that did were at a much lower cost. In the end the $4000 job went to about $400 instead with my trusted mechanic. The repairs were

Moving to the area recently, decided to use yelp for an auto shop, this shop came up. Booked apt for oil change, engine check light, and break light, day before went to auto zone said O2 sensor. I go in this morning, checked in, and front guy seems cool, all of a sudden he's like the have to run a diagnostic on the truck prior to doing work (which is typical), but the diagnostic would be $350? Your dealership wouldn't charge you that. If people are falling for this, you're getting scammed from jumó.

After having a mediocre experience at another auto shop I decided to take my Mercedes GL450 to Pegoraro, and I have used them ever since. They are professional and honest. I really appreciate the program they use to email or text you about the progress of your vehicle while it is being serviced. I was able to use their courtesy car while mine was in the shop, which is so helpful. Kyle, Todd and rest of the team at Pegoraro are awesome.

Last week we came up from California on a Thursday evening to visit my uncle in the hospital. As we were backing into a parking spot, a man in the car next to us told my husband it sounded like the u-joints were going out in our F250 pickup. Luckily, my uncle was familiar with Woody's, which is around the corner from Pegoraro's. Woody referred us to your shop and we were fortunate you were able to get us in the same day and get the job done for a reasonable price. Kyle was awesome, as was the girl who shuttled us to my uncle's. Nothing but good to say and would definitely refer

I could not be happier with them. I own a business that I have to use my van to get from job to job. Wednesday late afternoon I was driving on the freeway and my transmission went out. This is a really new van with 61k miles. Of course my warranty is 60k miles. They was nice and called a tow truck for me. Van arrived about 45 minutes later just before 5 p.m. I told them it was crucial to get it done as fast as possible. They called around and the only place that could rebuild my transmission fast was up in Seattle. They pulled my transmission out that night and the owner drove the transmission

Very dishonest shop. Gave me an estimate of $300-$500 to replace a leaking brake booster grommet (part # 5461808) on a GM truck. The part costs $10 which the other shop installed in less than 15 secs and they didn't charge me for labor. Don't be fooled. The mechanic/counter person at Pegoraro is a salesman and will convince you to do maintenance/repairs that is not even needed and will charge you ten times more than a dealer.

Finally, after trying Matt's and another shop in town, I found a place that can actually finish the job and do it right.
I had a problem with play in the steering and wandering as I drove down the road. I took it to Matt's twice and told them that I wanted it fixed. After the first repair, I ended up going back a few months later again for the same thing. This time I was assured that it would be fixed. It still had a problem when I got home. I drove it for a while to really verify that it wasn't totally fixed - because I couldn't believe that this was really happening
