Dan Smith founded Tacoma Custom Jewelry in December of 2010. The company's first location was on Broadway in the Winthrop across from the Broadway Center in Downtown Tacoma, WA. From this location, the company grew and relocated over to 6th Avenue where Dan joined, and was quickly elected, the Vice President of the Sixth Avenue Business District.

The process usually begins with a drawing or picture brought in by our customer, or an explanation by them of what they would like to have us create. We begin with a cad rendering, which creates an opportunity to make changes to the design before the custom piece is made.

Heather was amazing and so helpful ! Brought an antique ring in that belonged to my mother's great aunt . Heather helped with the sizing and showed us there was a prong missing on one of the big diamonds. If I had taken this ring to Fred Meyer jewelers (or somewhere else that offered a "screaming deal"), I am sure they wouldn't have noticed this detail and the diamond would have eventually fallen out ! You really pay for what you get and Tacoma custom jewelers is top notch service . They were barely even more than anywhere else and we got soooo much better service ! Support local business over

I recently took in my daughter's watch that my father had gifted her before he passed to have the band replaced. After calling numerous other repair shops in the area i was finally able to find a reasonable price at tacoma custom jeweler's. This was by far the best service i have ever experienced from a jeweler regarding service and price. Ok this place is so great! I have a custom opal engagement ring Which Dan and Heather helped me design and order. They are so knowledgeable and I could tell that they were not just there to sell me a piece of jewelry. They seemed invested and helping me find exactly what I wanted and we’re honest about each step of the process. They were also very patient with me as of course, I wanted it to be just right. These two also have unbeatable customer service. They assisted me in some adjustments multiple times, as like I said, this was a custom ring that is very uncommon, and had those adjustments

Ms. Heather was so kind in helping me get the PERFECT ring for my future wife. I honestly don't review things as much but as a first time customer of TCJ I felt comfortable how professional and knowledgeable Heather is.

I went here today to sell some jewelry I've had since I was a baby and I tell you what these people know their stuff. The woman who helped me was so kind and personable but also very professional. Not only did the employees offer great recommendations, they were also able to shed light on the history of the ring and its stones.

Heather and Dan are great! Heather helped us design the perfect
(I mean PERFECT :) ), engagement ring and managed to keep it in our modest budget. She was very friendly and informative, and we both left feeling like we learned about diamonds, metal choices, and what we were purchasing.
She even managed to get in 3 samples of designs we were interested in, which tremendously helped our confidence in purchasing the chosen one, because at other places it was "just imagine what it will look like", or "once we order it, it's yours!"
