Chef Daniel began his culinary career by working up the ranks of some of the top restaurants in Las Vegas and New York's food scene. He worked and studied with some of the world's renowned chefs such as Mario Batali, Angelo Areola, Mark Vetri and Sam Hezan. Now with over 20 years of experience developing and refining his craft, the Grandview Restaurant is proud to enjoy his talents as the Executive Chef of our restaurant.

The menus are regularly updated though there are some seasonal specials not always listed. Ask your server for any specials. Because we own our own farm, just across the street from the restaurant, we are able to create unique, seasonal menu items, all year round. It might be fun to check back from time to time to see the chef's menu as it changes.
Our restaurant converts into a beautiful wedding venue overlooking San Jose. For over 40 years, brides and grooms have married at this unique location. With a luxury bridal cottage on the property, a restaurant, on-site parking and overflow parking across the street, a covered patio and a lower patio perfect for ceremonies, we have much to offer.
Our large party offerings are a delicious, convenient way to entertain parties of up to 150. Interesting, the manager or owner replied with an apology and asked for details. I provided details and then they wrote back and offered free drinks OR free dessert (not both apparently) LOL. I didn't respond because why in the world would we drive all the way up there to a place we hated for free drinks OR dessert and also risk them spitting in our drinks or food? The better response would have been to reimburse us for the full horrendous experience.
The messages from the restaurant are no longer here so I assume they deleted them. Guess the offer is no longer valid anymore anyway. Lolol

My boyfriend and I celebrated our two year anniversary here tonight (1/3) at 5pm and it was a pretty good experience! I will base my review on food, service, and experience overall. Also, we drove an hour and the drive there was pretty scary! The roads were super narrow getting up the mountain we drove like 10mph. After the drive we were definitely looking forward to a kickass experience to make the drive worth it.

Celebrated my sister's birthday here. Max was our server and he provided the best service! The food was just OK but because of his exceptional service we had a wonderful time. Although our menu had four entrées to choose from, my family split between the filet mignon and the braised short rib ravioli. Those who got the ravioli said that it was good but way too cheesy and saucey. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and probably one of the best fillets I have had. I love how this place takes food allergies very seriously and can accommodate with no issues

Such an amazing restaurant! The service, food, and views are amazing!!
The food was great, some of the dishes were super great (like the fillet mignon)! The staff was friendly and nice, very accommodating as people played musical tables through the night trying to get a better view/seat.
Wish the bar has access to the view as it would be nice to head there just for apps and beverages.

I am beyond disappointed with our service and meal here on Christmas Eve. I was surprised when we got a reservation here so last minute, but now I know why. This place has gone downhill. We were seated promptly when we arrived and we're seated outside. There were plenty of heaters so we didn't mind at all. The view was blocked by a screen to shield the wind, but again we didn't mind.

How grand. The grand view is very well known in San Jose. People go here for all sorts of occasions. Me and the bf finally took the plunge and went July 2020 for my birthday. The drive up was what I expected for Mt hamilton. We booked for sunset which was perfect. The parking lot was packed!!!! My bf had booked for the outside seating, so I did not get to see what the restaurant looked like inside. I didn't bother using the bathroom either. I didn't know, but they used farm fresh ingredients from their farm across the street. Spectacular!

We have celebrated my birthday here. Since it was a surprise I wasn't the one who made the reservation. When my bf placed the reservation he told me if we plan on canceling there will be fee I believe it's $50/person. So if you make a reservation make sure you are really set to go here lol
The view was phenomenal! It was so pretty! We sat outside the balcony since we want to truly appreciate the scenery. They have multiple patio heaters which was really great! Parking was enough space for everyone who has reservation.

Most disappointing visit… been twice before and it was fine. This time everything was flavorless… I thought maybe it was me. But had dessert at home and my tastebuds were working properly. Seems like they’ve also raised the prices. Their drinks/bar and the view seem to be the main attractions…not the food.

Start to finish the experience here was excellent! My other half and I were celebrating some great things for us, a nice dinner seemed appropriate. Greetings were warm, the service from everyone more than I could've hoped for. The view of San Jose was breathtaking.
My bf had the prime rib, I had the butternut squash ravioli. So delicious. Drinks were OK, but we opted for cocktails rather than wine. Full from dinner we didn't indulge in dessert. I would definitely dine here again and bring friends and family.

Perfect place for date night. I took my husband here on his birthday, and he was awestruck. View is indeed mesmerizing and it is no surprise it is a Michelin star restaurant!

Long over due review, but my party of 13 people came here for my birthday last year. We were seated on two different tables, but instead we were moved indoors where it was just one table for our party. There was nobody else in there, but us and our waitress.
Ordered and our food came out in a timely manner, everything tasted great, and even for dessert I was surprised by the waitress bringing out my cake. We had a big cake, so we also let the waitress and her coworkers share in the back- everyone was happy!

My wife and I arrived promptly at 5:30. No one there but the staff. We were seated immediately, and given our menus. We waited about 5-10 minutes and no one brought any bread. Our waiter finally arrived and asked if we would like to order drinks. We asked about getting some bread, and to our chagrin, we were told, and I quote, “we do not give out bread until we take away the menus, because we don’t want them to get dirty. This place is incredible from start to finish!! I need more stars to provide an accurate review. The view is truly spectacular, but that's not even the best thing about this restaurant. I've been indulging in Prime Rib dinners for over 4 decades and I can now confirm that the prime rib dinner at The Grandview is the absolute best I've ever had. Ever. Vegetables and other plant edibles of the meals are grown on site and it tastes like everything was harvested and prepared minutes before being served. I give it 10 ✨⭐✨!! And the view!! Can't forget the view!!

When I saw the place, menu and prices I expect a WOWWW.... factor I didn't had that in the food.
It is a good food, very natural flavors and mild seasoning, good presentacion but nothing that you can't do at home if you know how to cook.

Service 5 start⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ thank you Juan and helpers, Juan has a nice personality and good sense of humor.
I got the aracini truffle, nice presentacion and like home made flavor.

What a treat to come here for a beautiful outdoor sunset anniversary dinner on a warm summer night. You're paying for the view, not the food :) be prepared to wait though if you're coming for sunset, we had reservations and still ended up waiting more than half an hour to be seated.
Food is not bad, just a tad overpriced. I do appreciate their efforts to be farm to table. The plating is hit or miss, and they love to use foam.

I absolutely love this place to pieces! I came here twice with my family and had reservations beforehand. The only downside and conversely upside to this place is that it’s on a giant hill - which means the drive over is painful, but worth every moment. The ideal time to come is around 6-7 pm, so you can see the sunset at 8! I loved how the sun progressively sat as we ate.
I liked the meatball and scallop appetizers, though be warned that appetizer sizes here are tiny.
I liked the squid ink pasta dish and the Bolognese pasta here a lot, and their tiramisu was great as well.
