She earned her doctorate of optometry as a magna cum laude graduate of Southern California College of Optometry.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends children have their eyes examined at 6 months old, three years old, at the start of school, and every two years until age 18.

My experience here was not pleasant whatsoever. The optometrist was snobby, insulted my current pair of glasses, and just plain rude when discussing what my insurance covers. I wish my experience was different. I don't recommend coming here. I hope that they change the way they talk to clients and treat everyone equally.

After moving away from the optometrist I used for 10 years, I didn't think I could find another who would match the level of dedication and service I had there. My first optometrist in the LA area put me in contact lenses that frustrated me with imperfect vision and discomfort for over a year. Dr. James and her staff came to the rescue! Dr James is the best! My husband, three year old daughter and myself love coming to see Dr James. She is a wonderful doctor and we highly recommend her! As a new patient I had a great experience at Luna Optometry. Everything was on time and I was greeted right away. Dr. James took her time in explaining everything and also I appreciate that she did the vision exam before dilating my eyes. She made sure to answer any questions that I had. There were a great selection of eyeglasses, and the staff was kind and willing to help me figure out what my plan will cover. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase glasses, which I sincerely appreciate!

We just moved to the area and stumbled upon Luna Optometry. I am sooooo glad we did. Dr. James is awesome! She was able to examine me and my 11yo daughter back to back. She is very thorough and dedicated to finding the right products that work for you. (For me this involved trying a few different contacts until we got it right). My daughter felt comfortable and had an easy exam - no anxiety at all that she sometimes gets at medical appointments. And Mounia fit my daughter with a great pair of glasses. Overall great experience and we highly recommend them!

In the past I went to a big, well known EYE center. I wasn't 100% satisfied with my vison but I thought, well...I guess this is as good as it gets....until I met Dr. Emily! During this pandemic, clinics are only limiting patients per day. It was difficult for me to schedule an appointment immediately with other clinics. Luna optometry welcomed me and gave me the best service by far. Their clinic is sparkling clean and you would notice that they do observe infection control. Dr. Emily James did the most thorough eye exam compared to all my previous visits with other clinics. Dr. James was amazingly patient and thorough when we brought our little Brielle into Luna Optometry for her second ever optometry appointment. Brielle loved the lighting decorations, which illuminated a sort of calming ambience, and the vast collection of eye-ware for her to choose from. Dr. Emily James is wonderful! I went in to get new glasses and she was so helpful with informing me about lens options. They have a great selection of frames and helped me to find the perfect ones. The best part was that Dr. Emily was able to cut the lenses for my prescription at her office for same day pickup! I didn't know that was even possible! The store is beautiful and inviting. I'll be back to get some sunglasses soon!
