Suds Car Wash, is an owner operated business that's been part of the Evanston community since 1988. The Greenbay Road location had it's grand opening in 1998. Our experience and success is based on 20+years in the car wash/detailing industry. The current owner started washing cars at the age of 14 with his father and brothers at various family owned car wash establishments in Chicago.

Going forward, Suds Car Wash remains committed not only to great service but also to being involved with the community through membership in the Evanston Chamber of Commerce as well as supporting local school and charity fund raisers.

Services
This will vary depending on the detail service you've select. Completion times can be as little as 1 hour or as long as 8 hours. If you're interested in same day service, it's advised that you call ahead and have the car in no later than 10am.
There are many variables to take into consideration when determining the frequency of waxing your car such as: 1) how often do you wash your car, 2) what are the weather conditions, 3) is your car kept in a garage or do you park on the street.Our recommendation is that you wax your car at least twice a year to maintain protection and appearance.

[Update 1] Well, the manager still avoids the points that I say he is ridiculous. I highlight them in CAPTIAL in my review now. Folks reading this post: have you ever encounter in life that you couldn't care less about a problem. But the other person is just so arrogant that you feel it's ridiculous. Just moved to Evanston. Went to Suds for the first time. Awesome experience. Had been using a regional full service car wash near my old home. Suds was much better at a much better price. My car has not looked this good in years. Yes there is a bit of a wait, it's popular and not a huge place. And you need to be patient because they do a very thorough job. But is definitely worth the wait.

If I can't wash my car myself, I prefer to take it here. They have good prices for a hand-wash with interior cleaning and floor mat washing, and are quick given that it's all by hand. The Belly rewards program is nice, and I appreciate the occasional free wash. I do wish that you could add a tip on a credit card, though they do have an ATM to get cash.

Been here many times without an issue but this past weekend when I took my car into be washed I noticed that there were scratches on the top of the car that were not there before. We immediately returned and spoke to the manager, Giovanni, who told us that there was absolutely nothing he can do because the scratches could not have been caused by suds. He immediately denied it without even seeing the car ( he only got up to see it at my request). I was told that I needed to call the owner on Monday. Just got back from a long road trip and my car was pretty grimy from it. My friend recommended this place to me. I usually go to Turtle but tried this today and WOW I am glad I did! My car has never been cleaned this good! My old van looks almost brand new. Fyi, if you go you need to go in from the back entrance. It was a little more than I am used to paying, about $21 for my minivan and another $1 for using my debit card, but these guy cleaned it so well and it smelled so good when it was done. They got in between spaces, cleaned my kids car seats, and even washed my rubber mats which Turtle never

Stopped in to have my perforated leather seat steamed and vacuumed after a spilled smoothie. Work was adequate but the manager was extremely rude and abrasive, which made the overall experience a very negative one. Won't bore you with the details but the guy is not pleasant and neither is the place. Would not return. The whole atmosphere was rushed and rude.

Holy sh*t! I waited 40 minutes to get my car washed here. They get crazy busy and they are not fast! You have been warned! But they did a really good job and it was detailed. Only thing is just the wait.... it is so long and not sure if it is always worth it if it is that long. Will check it out again to see if they are faster on other days. That may affect my rating.

DO NOT TRUST this place they lies to you said they can do it and get the scratches out and after they finish all the scratches still there and still tried make you pay. A bunch of frauds tried to make money from you even the job is not done correct as they said and promised me. They basically screw me over because they couldn't get all the scratches and the marks all out from the job as they said and promised to me before I leave the car. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience at this car wash located in Evanston. From this experience, I have learned you cannot put reliance on a yelp review. Moreover, you should question the person doing the review and make a balanced judgement.
I had seen this business many times in the past driving down Greenbay Rd and never had the feeling to come due to the ugly facade of the business. Next to the building, you will see this ghetto type used car sales area that doesn't match this northshore suburb. I could find those used car sales people on cicero and fullerton in the city
