John Reese settled Genoa, the oldest town in Nevada, in 1851. Within the main town square, you'll find Mormon Station State Historic Park, the Courthouse Museum of Genoa, and the Oldest Bar in Nevada. Gardnerville got its start in 1879, when Lawrence Gilman purchased the Kent House and had it moved from its location south of Genoa to a seven-acre parcel of land on the east fork of the Carson River.
There are places you can visit that are orderly, fabricated and neatly packaged. A mighty fine box of all things expected. Then again, there's this place where unprocessed adventures appear fresh daily, where real characters introduce you to wild horses, whitewater thrills, off-piste powder, trails, glider rides, charmingly creaky restaurants and the perfect bar stool for recounting your legendary day.

Carson Valley is a place where you can choose to do as much or as little as you prefer. You can soar in a glider, hit the links, tour museums, tackle bike trails and ski slopes, find a bald eagle in your viewfinder, bounce your way into a desert sunrise in search of wild horses or wrap the day in the raucously communal setting of a Basque restaurant.
If it's because of the many things to do outside, then you'll never have a dull moment. Staying in the valley during the winter means you will be on the hill riding while everyone else is still digging out their cars. Spring brings the world-famous Sierra Wave - enticing glider pilots the world over to try their hand at breaking a soaring record.

Today was Veterans Day, November 11th, 2021, Armistice Day Ringing of the bells in silence for the Veterans who served their Country USA.
It was emotional with the presence of Korean Veterans, all Veterans that were present for the small celebration.
We salute all Veterans.
This was held outside the Carson Valley Cultural Center in Gardnerville NV.
