My name is Kara Ashley-Gilmore, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Provisional Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and are struggling with chronic anxiety.
I love helping people learn to cope with stress through understanding their emotions, their bodies, their thoughts, their spirituality, and the things that get in the way of feeling ease, pleasure, and connection.

The author, Tanner Christensen, wrote that creativity is a cup of jellybeans. He explained that if a clear cup were full of jellybeans, you would only be able to see the colors around the perimeter. The jellybeans in the center are hidden from view. The insights that come to us as we are being creative are the keys to our personal growth.

I have taken a few workshops with Kara. She is gentle, kind and non-judgemental. Kara is wonderful about holding space so that you can follow through with the process. She will offer suggestions if asked.
Learning that mistakes can be fixed was so freeing to me! I feel that my creative side is busting wide open from Kara's guidance and support....and continued practice😊.
I look forward to upcoming workshops!

Kara is a kind and warm soul. She creates an atmosphere of calm acceptance. She is encouraging and appreciative of all creative efforts. She provides a marvelous array of supplies and ideas. Each class I have attended has been so welcoming. I felt free to experiment with new materials and concepts using interesting processes, colors and designs. Some of my experiments weren't the best but it didn't matter. I had a good time and left with a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
