The Baraona and Cheraso families have been proudly serving the Cleveland area since 1949. Striving to always provide our customers with outstanding products, we make everything from scratch, using only the finest ingredients. Our recipes have been handed down from generation to generation and have been enjoyed from generation to generation.
We can't say enough about our signature cassata cake. Layers of sponge cake filled with custard and strawberries in a glaze iced in real whip cream. Also the first thing that happens each day is fresh donuts (glaze, cake, long johns, custard, & jelly just to name a few). Our cannoli are freshly filled daily with our own recipes of ricotta cheese, chocolate chips and hint of cinnamon.

New to this bakery and falling in love. Cakes are fresh, flavorful, and perfect. It has a small "mom and pop" shop esthetic, organized and clean. Service was very nice and friendly. Location is a bit strange but easy to access. There is a big sign but I could understand if someone would simply pass it by if they are not familiar with the area. The street is cluttered with other businesses and traffic can be thick and hasty. Small parking lot.
Selections are good with pastries, donuts, cookies, full cake and little treats. It's not an overload of options so I could decide quickly

Rude! That's the best word I can use for them. I dealt with the constant rude behavior over the years since their strawberry Cassata cakes were their favorite. Last straw was when I arrived to order a graduation cake, near closing time I did not realist was so late, as I am attempting to order the cake & going over the different choices etc. the workers actually started turning off the lights, vacuuming the floor & pulling up the rugs on the floor. I say to the girl are they really doing this as I'm discussing my order? Her reply was "well it is closing time," I questioned

We have been buying cakes and bakery from Barona's for longer than I can remember. Everything is absolutely wonderful! Our favorite is the chocolate whipped cream cakes. The real whipped cream and the chocolate cake are a wonderful combination that is just right---- and not too sweet like a lot of other chocolate cakes. It's definitely worth the drive over to Barona's to get them!

Cassata cakes are to die for. Delicious! Do yourself a favor and call ahead a few days for a cassata cake. You can take a chance that they will have one but... it's a chance. And you don't want to go away empty handed. They are worth it.
I have had other bakery items like cookies and other treats. All good. No complaints just full stomachs.
Parking can be precarious at times. Mostly people parking kinda wonky and you have to navigate around them. Good hours. Nice helpful staff. Prices are reasonable.

When you want to buy cupcakes for your girlfriends birthday and just don't know which one she will like. What do you do? I know that answer. You buy all three choices and hope for the best.
I bought the German chocolate, lemon meringue and the cassata cake one. They all tasted great. My preference is German chocolate. But the other two were very close as well.
The staff was extremely friendly. And the service was very quick.
You won't be disappointed when you show up here tomorrow. I mean. You are coming for their sweets tomorrow right?

They make the most amazing and delicious cassata cake, cannolis and kolaches. It's my go to place for a cassata birthday cake. It is frequently requested by family. I'll never forget my first bite. My unit secretary brought in to celebrate my employee of the month at the old St Luke's hospital. I've never looked back.

One of the best local bakeries in Cleveland. They have freshly backed cookies, strudels, cakes, pies. You name it they most likely have it. And although it's fresh and local, it doesn't break the bank. Baraona's is very inexpensive. I always go here if I want to pick up a dessert for an event I am going to. Everyone compliments what I bring. Their selection is pretty good for the size of the bakery. They also offer flourless chocolate cake for people who can't eat gluten. They have bakery for every occasion and every season. The service is fast and their staff members are friendly

*not a food review* this about the service we receive there. I lived in maple heights for 25 years and All I ever heard about when it came to Bakery's was Baraona's.
Is the food good? Yes. The food there is very good. My problem is the customer service. I have read reviews where people say "they are so friendly and nice". When?
I have been there a dozen times in the last 5 years and all I ever get is attitude from the little girls behind the counter. I ask for cookies in the case and they huff and puff at me like I asked them to donate blood.
Today was the final straw

Very fresh baked goods and the baker is super nice. The bakery isn't huge but it's well-organized and is very clean. The girls at the counter were helpful and courteous. We ordered a chocolate chunk cookie, an oatmeal raisin cookie, and a glazed donut. Everything was perfectly fresh and tasted fantastic. You can tell this place uses only premium ingredients, as there's no odd aftertastes as you sometimes experience eating items from bakeries.
There were a lot of people picking up cakes; so I bet these are very delicious as well. If you're in this area, do yourself a favor

How could I forget to review a place I have been eating at since an early age?!?!
Great bakery, I love their cannoli. The may seem easy to make, but it does take the right touch to make a good one. They are delicious. The cookies are always good, they have many different kinds but the kolacki are my favorite. Haven't had something I didn't like here.
They have been around forever; they bake all sorts of goodies daily sure they have something for you. Happy to have one of Cleveland's best in Maple Hts!
