Private sessions are the ideal way to study Pilates as all exercises are chosen to meet your specific needs and fitness goals. Privates can best accommodate most injuries, such as bad knees or a sore back and are effective for people at any fitness level. A private session may include Matwork, use of the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda chair, barrels and other apparatus may also be included.
For those with prior Mat or Tower experience, take your Pilates practice to the next level with greater strength and control. These small group sessions offer challenging work on the Reformer, Tower and Wunda Chair. There are two levels for these classes, Basic/Intermediate, open to all with prior experience and Intermediate/Advanced, which requires Instructor's approval.

Services
Pilates Advantage, formerly Pilates at Quads, has been providing quality Pilates instruction in Lakeview for more than twelve years. We have worked with clients from 11 years old to 93 years young, from athletes and body builders to "I just hate to exercise" types. With this wide range of clients our instructors also have experience working with clients recovering from back surgery, knee and hip replacement and shoulder, knee and back injuries.
Group Tower classes are limited to seven persons per class and offer more than mat by including Cadillac exercises done either on the Cadillac or Tower. The added resistance of this equipment deepens the intensity of the work. Tower classes are only available to those who have completed ten Mat classes or have already taken ten privates or semi-privates.
Whether you are new to Pilates or new to Pilates Advantage, the New Student Specials are a great way to test out how well you connect with the Pilates method and with us. Please be sure you have time in your schedule to take all three sessions in a two week period to get the most from this experience.
Trained as a dancer, then trained to teach dance, Cathern Vaccaro's first experience with Pilates in 1990 opened a new door. She entered the Pilates certification program in 2000 which included 600 hours of apprenticeship, instructional seminars, supervised teaching and both written and practical examinations.
Close fitting tops, tank tops or tee shirts with leggings or close fitted shorts are recommended. Socks are required and grippy socks are preferred. We have a firm 24 cancellation policy. If you have a session scheduled and it is less than 24 hours prior, your account will be charged the full amount.

I have been doing Pilates with Cathy for close to twenty years. That alone tells you I think she is the best. I used to get a massage in a storefront that also had Pilates and as I was relaxing into the massage I would hear Cathy teaching a private lesson and thought it intriguing. I didn’t have a developed core but now I do. She has taught me so much. My body is shaped differently and I can move in ways I didn’t think possible. Love working with Cathy and Patrick. They take Covid seriously and always wear masks. The equipment is top notch and they've helped me learn how to do mat/reformer pilates in a way that works for my body, taking into account my needs. They've helped me activate certain muscles I never realized I had control over and shown me stretches to open up muscle groups that are tight. Also the heated floors in the changing rooms are a nice touch as well as Scorch, the friendly dog who welcomes you in.

Cathy and the team at Pilates Advantage are wonderful. The studio is beautiful, peaceful and COVID clean and NOTHING beats a Pilates one-on-one work out. Each and every time I leave Pilates Advantage I feel stronger, fitter and even a bit taller. I love Cathy’s group classes and have even worked out with my daughter. Pilates Advantage is a GEM, a small business worth supporting- fitness and wellness under one roof!

Beautiful new studio in a great location! All instructors are very well-trained to provide top-quality pilates and one of the best workout experiences I've ever had. Plenty of private and group classes that accommodate social distancing in studio and even offers personally-instructed Zoom classes for those who still want a great, personalized workout at home. Could not recommend more. You will feel difference in your body after the first class and love it more and more with time!
