We provide our customers with great, well-crafted locally-sourced artisan Mexican food in a comfortable unique environment. We specialize in seasoned rotisserie chicken, reminiscent of Mexican street chicken, traditional and fusion tamales, tacos, and traditional Mexican pozole. We've had a tamale food truck since 2012 and opened Tia's Big Sky in 2016.
Kari, Tia's very own produce supplier, has been a dedicated organic farmer for years in the Missoula area, where she also runs a large incubator farm, Tower Gardens, to help beginning farmers learn the trade. Kim, Tia's head cocinera, has a passion for cooking with local, organic foods and has owned previous restaurants in Costa Rica, where she lived for 18 years.

Our pasture raised chickens are actually raised outside on pasture. The chicks are brooded indoors until they are old enough to go outside. They are moved out to pasture inside large movable structures for their safety from predators and the environment. The structures are moved at least daily so the chickens always have a clean environment, new grass to scratch, and bugs to eat.

Seven Chile pork tamale was unique. The masa had a good flavor and consistency. Pork was pretty good. I could gave done without the garnish as it took away from the yummy masa flavor. It could have used more chillies too because the spice factor was nonexistent. (Bonus points for the Piña Habanero sauce in a bottle) Also charging for chips and salsa seems to be a thing 'round these parts so don't expect any freebies. Overall the food is good but you pay similar prices to a Rick Bayless restaurant. And a Rick Bayless restaurant this is not. (Look up Topolobampo) There's some charm in the homemade

Finally got around to eating here and I was underwhelmed by the flavors. Nothing really jumped out as an amazing flavor. The food, like Burns St Bistro, is locally sourced, which was cool. The vibe of the place and people were nice. Still, we would have spent $30 for a sandwich, a small quesadilla, chips with salsa and small cup of guacamole & a veggie tamale. The best among them was the salsa and chips. Everything else wasn't memorable. I'm giving it a 3-star rating because I appreciate they locally source food and hope some of the meat items might have been better.
