I hope this website can help you get a good idea of how I work and how a psychoanalytically oriented approach to psychotherapy can help you. I provide psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy to Adults and Adolescents to help people overcome the recurrent and resistant problems and patterns in work, love, and play.

In addition to psychoanalytic techniques, I use other strategies such as support, education, coaching, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness when I feel they are helpful. I also provide education and consultation to other mental health professionals and trainees in a variety of settings.
Services
Certified Psychoanalyst The National Institute for the Psychotherapies, New York City, NY. Assistant Clinical Professor Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, University of California, Davis, Medical School. I have 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst and I have a private practice in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Sacramento, where I provide treatment and consultation services.
A variety of different problems can be treated from a psychoanalytically oriented approach. When you call we can talk briefly about your struggles and then we can make an appointment. In the initial appointment we will talk in detail about what troubles you and what your goals are for yourself and your treatment.
For me Psychoanalysis has three aspects to it. First I think of it as a way of thinking about and being with different individual, interpersonal, social and political situations. It has an appreciation for the complexity of lives and the suffering we all experience as human beings. It is a way of listening to, witnessing and understanding a person or a group of people.
