PR5009 was founded in 1979 by Duff and Janet Thrasher with the mission to provide value to its customers, and a fair, stable workplace for its employees.
During its early years, the Thrashers operated the business out of their home, first in Santa Clara and later in Los Gatos. By 1996, the success and growth of the company led to the construction of the company's current Los Gatos headquarters and warehouse. From this facility, the company's territory has grown to encompass residential and business customers throughout Silicon Valley.

Thrasher helps you protect your biggest investment--your home--from the destructive power of uncontrolled termite colonies. Drywood termite colonies lives entirely within wood. They colonize rafters as easily as doorposts. Drywood termites need no contact with soil and survive on the very small amount of residual moisture in structural wood.
In addition to the work performed by the fumigator that we assign to your account, it is your responsibility to help prepare your home for the fumigation. Taking the following steps prior to fumigation helps ensure its success, resulting in the elimination of drywood termites from your home. Your assigned fumigator may supply additional home preparation instructions AND documents for your signature.
Along with drywood termites, subterranean termites are the main insect responsible for damage to structures. If left undetected, subterranean termites can tunnel up from the soil along the foundation and damage the wood structure of your home. Thrasher Termite & Pest Control is expert in subterranean termite identification, treatment, and damage repairs.
As their name suggests dampwood termites only infest extremely damp or wet timber. Plumbing leaks, faulty gutters, broken drains, or other excessive moisture conditions will allow these termites to exist. These termites are 1 in length and are much larger than drywood termites and subterranean termites.

Alex went above and beyond in performing exclusion services for us. He was meticulous in installing the metal mesh around our custom decking and coordinated with the roofing contractor so that details we’re not missed between teams! He also explained the behavior of rodents before and after exclusion helping to set our expectations. Thank you, Alex!

We'd like to give a shoutout to the wonderful inspector, Mike. He updated us on his progress with each section of the house, didn't make us move anything unnecessarily, did a thorough job inspecting our property, provided useful feedback and was a joy to work with. The office staff, Vanessa, Erika and Abby were also all super helpful when we had a question and provided us with the paperwork promptly.
The whole fumigation process was seamless...

Almost all the other places provide a no cost inspection report. While I am ok with the $200 we paid for the report, the quality of the report was far below the competition. The inspector did not explain any of the damages to us. But we received an expensive quote for dry rot repairs with no pictures of the damage. Some of the estimates were incomplete i.e it said bid for it. The other companies who did similar inspection sent annotated pictures of the damage for "free". I requested the company for pictures but all they seemed to care was the $200 I paid and pretty much no response after that.
