My husband has been at Laurel Ridge for two weeks. The nurses & aides are extremely professional, kind and caring. They focus on the patient, & follow through. I call Nicole “super nurse.”
Sue, who is doing wound care, explains what she is doing & why & is very gentle. Administrators, Physical & Occupational therapists and all I’ve met are dedicated, professional & compassionate.

My brother John has been at Laurel ridge healthcare Center
for for 10 years and I'm very satisfied with the care that he's getting here. I have to praise the staff as they are ,all the staff including the administration, for how they have soldiered on through this last year which frankly has been hell. April March of last year was very scary for the staff all the staff because of course they came to work in knowing that they may be carrying The covid virus home and yet after a brief month of struggle people found their courage and people came in and they did their job and they turned it around

I am always appreciative and supportive of health care workers, especially in these challenging times with a pandemic. However, this facility is understaffed and the communication between colleagues and the client and client family is disappointing. I came to Laurel Ridge from Danbury Hospital with a benign brain tumor called an acoustic neuroma, which was causing severe vertigo . In the 8 days I was there, they were unable to correctly schedule me for a neurology appointment for my brain tumor or an audiogram to check my hearing loss for the tumor.
I am thankful for some of the very caring and

The Dementia Care Coordinator, Jennifer and the Dementia Care Staff are so loving and attentive with my mom. They keep me informed on anything of importance that I need to know. They know what my mom likes, when she's cold, when she's not herself. My mom has come to love them and so do we. It makes us feel so much better knowing that she is in good hands when we can't be there for her. So many others from Administration, Social Work, Receptionists, Recreation and even Laundry have been so helpful to us when needed.

I cannot express enough how great the admission process is at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center. It isn’t easy needing long term care for a loved one. Since we couldn’t care for my mother ourselves it was critical to find a place to trust and ensure the best possible care. This meant research and asking lots of questions and each and every one was answered promptly by Shonda, the director of admissions.
You can tell when someone loves their job, it just radiates from them. Shonda put our minds at ease, handled herself professionally, quickly turned around the admissions paperwork, is a kind

I have lived at Laurel Ridge for two years. The Social Workers are so helpful and kind. There is always something fun being offered with Recreation even when Social Distancing is in place. The Nurses and Aides know me well and are always willing to go the extra mile. I am well taken care of here and still have my independence. I would recommend to anyone looking for a Skilled Nursing Facility for a family member.

This is the third facility my family member has been in. She is so enthusiastic about her experience at Laurel Ridge, you can hear it in her voice. She feels like she has purpose again- she wanted to walk again with a walker and the staff is doing everything they can to support this goal! The staff could easily rush her into a wheelchair versus taking the slow steady trip with a bad back and bad knees, which easily takes three times the amount of time it would via a wheelchair. My family member is never rushed and is always encouraged. Thank you 2nd floor.

They tell the family lies to get a new patient. My mother waited over 2 hours to get changed after an accident even after my sister called them and my mom pushed the help button. None of the staff know the correct visiting hours, and we were given 3 different answers. They are short-staffed probably because the Directing of Nursing is rude & condescending. The nurses were very helpful, but stretched to thin. Director of Nursing should be immediately fired. Removing our mother immediately from this horrible facility.

Went for a TOUR, not a single staff member made eye contact or even smiled as we walked through. Everyone looked sad and unhappy, including the residents. I would NEVER send a family member there. Your first impression is the most important impression. Having to send a family member for rehabilitation is already nerve wrecking, walking into a place that offers no feelings of comfort is terrible!! The tour guide was the only person on staff that seemed to be put together and happy to be there. The rest looked bothered by our presence!
