She worked as a staff psychiatrist at that hospital in the inpatient unit and emergency department before moving to Virginia in 1989.

Dr. Patel is compassionate, patient-centered, professional, kind, and fair. I feel blessed to be thriving under her care. Bruce, Practice Administrator, is equally kind and his professional demeanor are unmatched. Bruce is an expert in scheduling, insurance coordination, and other healthcare administration procedures that prove challenging for most other practices I have witnessed. If you want the best care in Hampton Roads, call Dr. Patel.

She's actually really rude and inflexible. She'll definitely lecture you about canceling an appointment after lecturing you about trying to reschedule. I'm honestly surprised anyone feels comfortable talking to her with such a rough personality. Maybe she's really great for people with massive amounts of free time and no real problems. Just say you don't work with people that have ADHD only people that want ADHD medicine, especially when you can't deal with the general baseline traits of people with ADHD. Anyway, is time management is ever possibly an issue in the future don't waste your time here

I had an appointment this morning and live all the way in the outer banks. 2 hour drive to get to the office without traffic. well today it was raining and i hit traffic due to an accident. i call the office to tell them that i am going to be 10 minutes late. i was already all the way in va beach, and i was told they couldn't see me. in addition i still would have to pay for the appointment. on top of that, the receptionist was incredibly rude. so all in all i drove a total of six hours only to pay for an appointment that never happened. when my appointments usually only last 10 minutes. needless

I have been seeing Dr. Patel for over 17 years now. I think she is one of the best psychiatrists I've ever seen. She's helped me through some rough spots over the years and is very compassionate and caring. She has gone out of her way to accomodate me in her busy schedule when I've been in crises. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel to anyone who needs to be treated by a psychiatrist.

So I had an appointment with my Dr. Patel recently which I had to cancel, because my work schedule changed, but I told them I was running out of meds and I only had about 2 pills left so I needed her to call in a prescription. I've never had a problem with a psychiatrist doing this, even if they charge for the 30 seconds of their time that it took. BUT Dr. Patel said she wouldn't call in a refill before seeing me again and she had no evenings available this week or any time soon and apparently wasn't willing to squeeze me in. I was like "so I'm supposed to go through withdrawal, because I have
