Mental Health Resource League
The show was a HUGE success - thank you to all crafters and patrons who supported the show and made it so successful! We look forward to spending our 2022 craft show season with you!. We look forward to bringing this show back in all its glory! Plan on joining us in May for our 54th Annual Fair Diddleyshow!

100% of net proceeds from Fair and Fall Diddley are donated to 16 McHenry County agencies that service those with mental health related issues. Additional funding throughout the year is made available through our Immediate Grants Fund! Without your attendance and participation, this wouldn't be possible!
Services
The Mental Health Resource League for McHenry County was founded in 1967 as an auxillary to the McHenry Mental Health Center. MHRL broadened its scope in 1967 to give financial aid to mental health-related agencies in McHenry County.

The all-volunteer league has a membership of over 100 men and women who raise funds to help McHenry County mental health agencies supply the services needed in areas such as crisis hotlines, youth programs, abuse, addictions and developmental disabilities. In 1969, the first Fair Diddley Craft Show netted $500 for the agencies.
MHRL has a reputation for featuring hand-crafted, quality, original work at both the Fair Diddley and Fall Diddley shows. We are able to achieve this by requiring each of our vendors to be placed at one or both of the events through a juried application process.

Through this process, we have been able to provide you with an outstanding display of folk art, wood carving, dried florals, pottery, painted and appliqued clothing, jewelry, fine art and much, much more.Crafter placements in both Fair and Fall Diddley events are on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you are a crafter and would like to stay in the same location as you've had in the past, you MUST submit your applications in a timely manner.
In 1991, MHRL established two scholarships at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. The scholarship is awarded to a student from McHenry County enrolled in graduate study at NIU, majoring in a mental health field. The Department Chairs submit nominees via supporting letters. From the pool, the Dean chooses the candidate that best represents the spirit and criteria of the award.
If you would like to save money on Fair and/or Fall Diddley application fees, MHRL is now offering cash vouchers to any crafter who submits the contact information for a NEW Fair or Fall Diddley crafter. If the crafter is selected and juried into our shows - YOU earn a voucher! For more information, download the information sheet here or from the list below.
Please note that your questions will be answered much more quickly by sending us an email. Because we are a 100% volunteer board, the telephone number is not monitored as much as the email contacts are. Be assured you will receive a faster reply by sending an email rather than calling the League's telephone numbers.
