The WORKSHOP is a base of operations for all that is bike. It's a clubhouse, a meeting hall, a secret society, a safe haven for many and safe house for some. Here you will find answers to life's deepest mysteries and discover that lubing your chain is the key to a long prosperous life. We are three born and bred NYC trouble makers.
We love challenges. Bring us the work that no other shop will touch or can fix. With a machinist, a motorcycle mechanic, and a helicopter mechanic on staff, we think outside the box when it comes to fixing bikes. All of our mechanics are Barnetts trained and Shimano S-Tec Di2 certified. From the simplest kids bike tune up, to a complete full suspension overhaul, we got your back!
What was our original bike shop that started in the 1970's, has now been converted to our pro shop that focuses on a boutique bike buying and service experience. We have the bikes, parts, and accessories that you only see in magazines. With over 30 bikes for you to try before you buy, we have the largest fleet of bikes in the Northeast.
Our newly opened shop offers the same amazing level and quality of sales and service you've come to expect at our County Road location, with your family in mind. We've dedicate this space to entry level and family price points only. Two Shops, one mission: To get more people riding bikes and more places for you to ride them.
We are Palisades MTB, a group of cycling enthusiasts with our sights set on establishing spectacular mountain bike trails in the Palisades Region. Mountain biking is currently not available in the vast majority of beautiful parks in Orange, Rockland and Bergen Counties. As a chapter of IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) we are working with other user groups to petition park managers for trail access.

Bicycle Workshop is one of the best places to go if you’re looking for a bike or service. The experience you get when you step into the Shop is top notch. Unlike box stores, you’ll get personalized service based on what you’re looking for. Last year, I took advantage of their demo program which is a great way to try different bikes before making the commitment from a wide selection. Kevin and Alex were great in helping me with the process and answering questions I had. During the storage, they were able to deliver my new Ibis earlier than expected. The customer service is first class and (IMHO) they carry the best range of top-line MTB bikes, parts and accessories anywhere in the NYC Metro/Northern NJ area. I was looking for a road bike. Came back to check in with the guys after they steered me in a very right direction with my Ibis Ripmo a couple years ago. They were thoughtful and listened to my needs back then and again this time. Got some great advice that was backed up by some research and came home with a new Cervelo R-series. Looking forward to exciting road miles to add to my exciting dirt ones. Absolutely the most knowledgeable bike shop I’ve encountered. If you’re shopping for anything biking, stop by and get some advice or just ogle all the eye candy on the racks.

One of the best bike shop in the region. I worked with Kevin and Alex to order a bike during the current bike shortage. They were very attentive and kept me updated on the ever changing ETA from the manufacturer. In the end it was well worth the wait and I'm glad I purchased from this shop. They know their stuff and are all very knowledgeable. If you are looking for a MTB this is the shop to visit.

I am very happy that I spoke to Kevin about purchasing my new bike. It was a very easy process. He took my height and weight over the phone. I came in and sat on the bike to finish the setup process. He was very thorough and made the purchase very easy. The next day, I was riding Killington without any issues. I highly recommend the Bicycle Workshop in Tenafly!

Alex is super knowledgeable, friendly and kept in contact with me through expected delays over a four month period. Decided to get back into mountain biking and purchased a new Ibis Mojo 4 from Tenafly. It took 5+ months to receive it but now couldn't be happier. Alex and the crew at Tenafly did a great job of getting It put together and getting it setup properly. Can't wait to get it out on the trails when the weather let's up. Highly recommend Tenafly and would recommend it as the best bike shop in the NYC area.

When I stopped in for some air, since this shop is a mile from my house, the owner looked at my Specialized bike and told me he will put me "on a more comfortable bike" suggesting that I bought a bike that I do not understand or is out of my ability. Rude? Yes.
When I shopped for bikes for my kids, I bypassed the place and bought mine in Ft Lee! After 20+ years of patronage, I am never to step in there again because the owner condescends on his customers! Not everyone who rides a road bike rides 10,000 miles, but a local shop owner should not make them feel inferior when they have supported

This shop is the best. I live in NYC and mountain bike and it's almost impossible to find a place with knowledgeable folks and skilled mechanics. Shops near me are either crazy over priced or just winging it on bikes they rarely see. Tenafly sees high end bikes all the time and know how to do mtb right.

Update: I brought the bike back the following week and the guys were pleasant (again!) and replaced the cable and cable housing.

I stopped here earlier today after an accident on my way home. The guys in the shop were courteous, and helpful; the looked at my bike right away. They pronounced the bike safe to ride home (thank goodness) and offered to adjust the derailleur (which was slipping a lot after the accident).
They spent about 30 minutes working on it before returning it to me. The repair cost $20 which seemed reasonable for the time spent.

You can't go wrong with this shop! The entire shop is staffed by people most interested in getting you on the right bike or mechanics who know how to fix/build bike like pro's. I did a lot of looking around for my last MTB purchase and the level of service here was simply the best. Not only do they carry great brands, they seem truly committed finding the best bike for your riding style and price point and then they have the technical ability to tune the bike to how you want it to perform (and they will not stop until they get it right for you). You're not going to get that level

Great bike shop. Expert mechanics. Danny's a gem. My wife's bicycle needed a brake adjustment. I stopped into Bicycle Workshop in Tenafly and Danny took care of me. No problem. Replaced the cable. Fixed brakes on the spot. Excellent work. What that did is allow my wife and I to enjoy a bike ride today, just enjoy time together. Excellent customer service and repair.

I usually dont leave reviews for anything but i felt i needed to on this occasion. If any of you are looking to purchase a bike, a component, accessory or anything from repairs to just information These guys are it! I looked everywhere from online retailers to about 6 other local shops and no one comes close to the service and reasonable pricing. They made my yeti sb5 turq purchase as simple with all the information i could ever want. Their staff are knowledgable about all types of bikes and even all the trails and some that are hidden gems. They are far from snobs like other establishments

PROS: The staff here is the nicest you'll ever meet. The quality of the merchandise here is great and despite the prices being a little high, it's for the quality of the item. The staff is knowledgable about biking and can even fix your bike if you need them too. There are even cycling groups that dispatch from the shop ever now and then. They allow you to test ride the bikes if you choose to, and they also have a lot of different stuff to buy relating to cycling.
CONS: Parking is very poor. There lot is small and the street is usually filled up. Inside, the building is small and flooded

This shop saved me on a long ride once again - broke my chain this time on Alpine. Quick, knowledgeable help. Kevin was the one who took care of my bike. He also fixed a few problems that another store from a few miles north had done poorly.
If I lived closer, I'm in Brooklyn, this would be a great local stop for me.
