This year, Vanille is partnering with Fight2Feed to provide Thanksgiving pies to families in need. For every 10 retail pies sold, Vanille will donate 1 pie. You can also sponsor pies at discounted rates and Vanille will take care of all the baking and delivery! Fight2Feed brings food to people who need it, fighting hunger and food waste in commuities.

I really really wanted to fall head over heels with this place but unfortunately it was a just a bit of a let down.
The bakery itself is adorably decorated. I kept going around to take pictures; I just had to share! Seriously, well done on the decor. The displayed pastries are so inviting and look absolutely mouthwatering, but unfortunately they missed the mark for me.
I've been to Paris and multiple French bakeries all around the USA and I've found that adding more sugar is the biggest error made when trying to replicate French pastries. I've noticed the elevated sugar levels

I went in on NYE and I can agree that the staff are not very friendly. I got a couple of their NYE desserts, macarons, and a chocolate croissant. The desserts were okay, but nothing great. The macarons were a big let down. They were all stale and not good. I’ve had macarons from lots of places, and these were the worst. I had been looking forward to trying Vanille for years. I’m glad I did, but I won’t be back. The 3 stars is for the chocolate croissant. That was decent.

It was my first time ordering from them. And I have to say that they did a beyond awesome job with my daughter's custom 1st birthday cake. There wasn't one thing that I disliked about my order and how it came out. They did even a better job than the picture I sent them. And it also tasted delicious. I am a macaron fanatic, and in search of the best in Chicago. I really wanted to love Vanille Patisserie, and this may have been my own fault for coming towards the end of the day, but a few of the macarons tasted old (specifically the Chocolate and Vanilla) The Carrot cake and the Salted Carmel were amazing, and I wish I had ordered duplicates of these instead of the stale ones. Will probably give the patisserie another try at some point, but I did leave dissatisfied over the weekend.

First time trying Vanille and omg I was missing out on such good stuff. Guess I will be a regular now.
Ordered the Royal, Sophia, Brownie and Evan. All 4 of the desserts were so delish. Right amount of sweetness, well balanced.
The macarons on the dessert were awesome. Going to order them separately as well.

I come here almost one a week for their light-as-air cappuccinos and gooey flaky almond croissants.
These croissants gave me the strength to endure a Chicago winter, they were to reason I left my house some days in the depths of the covid wfh era; I bring them as gifts when I go out of town and I bring my friends and family to Vanille when they visit.
My usual order: large cappuccino extra dry, almond croissant - warmed, passion fruit tart & homemade caramels (if they have any in-stock). Their chai tea lattes are amazing as well!

Found this place while searching for French pastry shops in the downtown Chicago area. Got tiramisu and one another strawberry pastry (I don't know what it was but it tasted like some fruits and custurdish cream). They were both delicious and rich but not too heavy so that I didn't share with my husband and I ate all by myself.

Very disappointing experience with Vanille. Their pastries are wonderful, but they are not equipped to handle custom cake orders. I contacted Vanille 3 months prior to the date of when I needed a custom order and worked with Jova. I had to call and email multiple times to follow up on the details. Jova did not seem attentive and we had to go over repeated details several times.
When I emailed asking to confirm the serving amount, I never heard back or received an invoice. She said we had "plenty of time" to confirm before the event I was ordering the cake for. I asked over the phone

I stopped in one day after the Farmers market to grab a couple sweet treats for a friend's b-day. Everything looked so good I decided to get a couple things myself. I have not had sweet treats that compare to the decadence of what I had at Vanille Patisserie since Laduree in Paris. The only two times macaroons have been superb for me. I will be back again and again and again. They are amazing!

Fantastic! What a wonderful Chicago patisserie. Picked up 4 pastries a few weeks ago and enjoyed them with the friends. The passion fruit tart was my friends favorite! I particularly liked the Manjari and a berry seasonal one they had. The Manjari was decadent and delicious while the others were light and truly expertly made. I went near closing so not all options were available but I will definitely return to try the macarons, croissants and tarte citron!

I had a vanilla cupcake from here. It was huge! The whipped cream was very light and fluffy but the cake was very dense.
I also had vanilla and Nutella macaroons. They were ok. They were chewy versus light and fluffy.
I also had a chocolate caramel streusel with hazelnut dessert. It was very strong tasting and delicious!

Amazing bakery in Lincoln Park with delicious bakery items. Their cupcakes, macaroons and desserts are all top notch and absolutely gorgeous. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. This is the place to come if you want to bring desserts that will wow your friends and family. Everything always looks stunning and tastes even better.

I came back here for some Easter goodies and absolutely loved everything I bought. The blueberry tart was incredibly soft and fluffy with subtle fresh blueberry flavoring. The matcha cheesecake was my favorite as it was perfectly sweet with fresh raspberries on top and whip cream. The almond croissant was one of the best I've ever had with generous powdered sugar and a nice crunch. I loved the variety and quality of goodies from here!

I love their individual pastries, macaroons and decked out cupcakes. The Royal individual pastry is my current favorite. If you're a chocolate and hazelnut lover, you are going to enjoy this.

Delicious! Literally saved my boyfriend and I's Thanksgiving with their pie. I'm allergic to cinnamon but get tired of the same old french silk every year. Vanille Patisserie's Chocolate Nutella French Silk was a welcomed change of pace. As well, they gave away a lot of pies to families in need. I accidentally showed up to get my pie earlier than my pick-up window and was still able to receive my order. As well, their store is gorgeous and they had tons of other treats I would love to purchase one day.

Most recently, I ordered a birthday cake. I got the plain white with passionfruit curd and coconut. It was absolutely delicious (even the people in my family who are picky about their cakes loved it!). All the flavors were so fresh and clean, you can really taste the high quality ingredients they use in their products.
Will be a life long customer!

I was a long time patron of their Hyde Park location, but when that closed down we decided to visit the Lincoln Park location to get our Vanille fix. They had several pastries and macaron flavors fully stocked. They only had chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, though.
Either way, we got a box of macarons and they were delicious, as expected.
They have some seating oustide.
Unlike the Hyde Park location, they do not offer student discounts.

After spending 3 weeks in London, I wanted to bring my friend to afternoon tea. This place outshined London! Private setting with a room to ourselves, 3 courses (2nd being the tea tower) and unlimited tea. The selection of tea was amazing and each one we tried was flavorful without any sugar/milk. The food was absolutely mouth watering and we were both blown away with every bite. The top plate is cut out in the picture but had 4 macaroons. Our server was amazing and so kind; she ensured our experience was perfect. Would highly recommend.

You can order almost everything on their menu, in advance, online. They offer pick-up in designated time windows or delivery between 9am-5pm (you can't pick a delivery window unfortunately). You can schedule your order far in advance, which is what I did. Note that you are charged for your order immediately
