Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union was the 182nd credit union organized in the State of Michigan. In 1937, the country was still in the throes of a severe economic depression that underscored the need for a workable financial plan to enable Dow employees to save for emergencies and obtain convenient, low-cost credit.

Two Dow employees heard about the credit union movement and brought members of the Michigan Credit Union League to Midland. When DCECU began, membership was available to all employees of The Dow Chemical Company upon payment of a $0.25 membership fee. After joining, members could buy shares in the Credit Union for $5 each.

You can make your loan payments1 quickly and easily via Online Banking or the Mobile App, and from an account at another financial institution2. This place is the worst!! They are bad at everything they do. Poor customer service, they sell your personal information and will randomly put security holds on your card in the name of security, but then you are stuck inline embarrassed and have to cancel your order. Then 15 min later they call you to verify it was you.

Want to give Taylor a HUGE SHOUOUT!!!! She did a above, beyond & wonderful job helping me out with a problem today that was not my fault!!! So thankful for your help Taylor, thank you is not enough, but I sure appreciate your help. Once again thanks DCECU for having great employees who take a few extra minutes to help. Sue Tonk also want to clarify that it wasn't anything DCECU did either, I belong to DCECU and Taylor took the time to straighten it all out!

I've worked for multiple financial institutions (not DCECU) in the past, so I have a great understanding of how deposit accounts, loans, etc. are originated and serviced.
I've never been a customer of another institution as frustrating to work with as DCECU. Their online banking is essentially pointless for anything other than viewing activity, as changes to contact information, external payment accounts, automatic payments, etc. cannot be done online.
They also take account security overboard, to the point it's a chore to simply call them to change those details over the phone that they don

TWO SECONDS AWAY FROM CLOSING MY ACCOUNT WITH DCECU!
The app is deeply flawed! The Credit Card portion could be greatly improved. Transactions don't show up for days and when you transfer money to the Credit Card to pay it off, that takes days to show up, as well, when the Checking/Savings Accounts show up instantly. The Credit Card portion also doesn't show the exact amount you owe for that month. It shows the minimum owed ($25).
I always pay my complete balance shown on the app (transactions due and some transactions not yet due) early, and I won't use my card for sometime and there is still

The only reason that I am leaving 1 star is because I had to select one. This company seems great at first and for a couple months it was a really good credit union; good rates, friendly staff (for the most part), easy loan process, and everything could be done online so I didn't have to drive to sign loan papers. Because of this I ended up purchasing 2 vehicles with them as the loan provider. The first still no issues as of yet.
However, about 6 months after purchasing my second vehicle I got a call saying that I was late on my truck payment which I knew wasn't true because it is a direct withdraw

Been a loyal member of the credit union for almost 3 years now. Never had a problem with them. I really appreciate getting money back from them, I believe it's quarterly. Look forward to doing more with DCECU in the future.

During this covid pandemic my checking account went negative. So understandably my checking account was closed. I didn't receive any assistance or uia in this time of hardship. DCECU Kristen in member services refuses to help turn my checking account on so that I can pay my bills now. Even with a large check deposited the credit union isn't as great as I thought. I'd suggest going to a different credit union DCECU obviously has no heart.

This credit union is AWESOME! The staff have all been extremely kind, and courteous. Someone uses your card fraudulently, you don't have to wait long to get your money back. Lose your wallet, they can reissue a new card in house. I've had nothing but excellent experiences every time I've called or came into the office. Highly recommend!

They're always so nice here. I love everyone. Someone tried to use my card in Flordia and the caught it before the money was released. I went to the office and was able to get a brand-new in less than 15 minutes.
