The team at Southkent is united by one mission: protecting the love you share with your pet. It's why we come into work. Dr. Meggan Freeland graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She also completed a Bachelor's of Animal Science and is finishing her Master's in Food Safety at MSU.
Once-a-year exams for your dog or cat are the true centerpiece of preventive health care. If our key wellness measures are the spokes of a wheel, once a year exam is the hub holding them together. Because it's during these comprehensive physical exams that all health variables are evaluated together to better assess your pet's immediate health care needs.
Why We Exist Honoring Tradition It is our mission to provide the highest standards of health-care to the pets we serve while investing our knowledge in pet owners for a bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow. The staff and doctors at Southkent Veterinary Hospital believe that Southkent is more than a hospital; we are a community care center.
2019 marks our 70th year in this community. It's an accomplishment we are incredibly proud to celebrate, because it represents the kind of love, compassion, and dedication we have shared with the pets and people of this community since 1949. The trust we have earned is not taken lightly, and we are determined to continue to care for you with one standard: like we would for a member of our family.
Our community's rescue organizations do so much for dogs and cats who have not yet found their homes and families. We do everything we can to support them, and to support the health care needs of rescued pets. Please get in touch with us if your organization needs help, or if you have recently adopted a rescue pet.

Brought my dog in. They were pretty far booked out but I think that’s probably a good thing. My dog was there for some basic care stuff. The staff was very friendly and nice. The vet was very personable and caring. She seemed to listen to and addressed all my concerns. The price was very affordable. These folks definitely care about pet and I would highly recommend them.

This place is the best place ever. I moved out here about 2 and a half years ago and it was so hard leaving our old vet. But this place was the best decision. They've done a fantastic job saving my new puppy. I'm forever grateful for the staff whoever taken endless care and time to take care of my fur babies. We love you guys
