James Automotive Center is a locally owned family business. JAC was established in 2014, however, William James Jr has been a full-time automobile mechanic for 36 years now. JAC is co-owned by myself, Suzanne Luker and William James Jr. We work together in gaining our customers' trust and exceeding their expectations ~ this is at the heart of our organization, caring for each customer's vehicle as if it were our own.
I went into this business with james after coming to know him as an excellent mechanic who was passionate about his work. I could see that repairing cars was in his blood~ he was a natural. He can tear things down in his mind, improve and repair, and put back together, many times in his sleep. Services
It is a misconception that you must service your vehicle at the dealership to maintain your warranty, and that is U.S. Federal Law (see the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, enacted in 1975). This is simply not true, and it states so in your owner's manual, under Maintenance Schedules. Service at a dealer is not mandatory to keep your warranties in effect.
James Automotive is the ONLY place I'll take my vehicles. As an independent business owner, it is a huge relief to know that I can leave my old pickup truck in James' care, and he'll keep me on the road. As a father, husband, and son-in-law, I have four more vehicles to keep up with. The trust, reliability, and know how that James and Suzanne bring ensures we'll be customers for life.
Whether large or small, your business depends on its fleet. At James Automotive, we share your goal of enhancing the lifespan of your fleet and preventing unnecessary breakdowns. We keep track of required services and send reminders, to include all manufacturer's recommendations. Every service visit, the vehicle is inspected bumper to bumper, with inspection checklist signed by an ASE-certified technician.

I explained to James that need rocker arm replaced, and oil plus transmission oil changed on my Lexus. James showed me a picture where he dropped the trans pan. He stated Rocker Arm was completed, I paid nearly 1$100 and explained that I was headed right over to have an alignment done. Couldn't have alignment done because tire rods were busted that James did not mention. Park car in garage and lto eft for trip, when we returned and moved the car there was a large amount of transmission fluid on the floor. James asked me to bring it back. Took it back and James attempted to charge me $1300 to fix

Maybe james is a good mechanic but I wouldnt know since he turned me off with his initial interaction with me. I made the mistake of assuming he would be as proffesional as the phone lady.although she specified he could do a computer diagnostic.he then said thats too old and he may not be able too. .kept saying you really wanna put money in an 88. An 88 really!. You really wanna... ? Really ? Ah duh.yes thats why i spent 6 hours trying to set up my tow there. Maybe he was letting me know its gonna cost you alot. Maybe she didnt inform him I needed a diagnostic and not work done . i felt akward

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! And the more I talk to people the more complaints I hear!!
STAY AWAY!!!!!
Young lady who answers the phone and handles customer interactions is extremely ignorant to anything automotive and unapologetically rude to new customers wanting information on pricing.
James himself is actually worse then the young lady because he will not only turn away business without attempting a resolution but he will also be rude and inform you of his sense of entitlement because he’s the only black repair shop on the street.

I don't usually write reviews, but I think James and Suzanne deserve some recognition for the good work that they do. First and foremost, is how refreshing it is to have straight up and honest people to take my vehicle to. Finding a mechanic that you implicitly trust isn't some trivial thing, it can take a long time. When they tell me something needs to be fixed, I don't have that internal debate in my head that happens when I'm at an unknown auto-repair shop. My family has brought three different vehicles for major repairs to James, and we've been happy and satisfied with the work done each time

Fast friendly service. I've had over 2000 dollars worth of work done to my vehicle here and every time I've had to get anything done, it was done quickly and professionally and on time. James is a very knowledgeable mechanic and this is a very professional business. World needs more mechanics like him. Thanks for all your help. Will use in the future and would highly recommend to anyone looking for help with their vehicle.
