The process can be stressful. You will be asked to absorb a lot of information in a short time. This often includes a written report, checklist, photographs, environmental reports and what the inspector himself says during the inspection. All this combined with the seller's disclosure and what you notice yourself makes the experience even more overwhelming.
There are many benefits to having your home inspected before listing. With a pre-listing home inspection your home could sell faster and for more money without any renegotiations because results of the inspection will be presented ahead of time. Your potential buyer will be reassured about the condition of the home from the detailed inspection report.
Organize the garage. Get rid of clutter by either putting it in boxes, or pack ahead of time and rent a storage locker for your garage belongings. Make sure you wash your car. Touch-up the paint on the exterior of the home if necessary. In some cases, it pays to repaint the entire exterior if it hasn't received a coat of paint in years.
In general terms, every new home has a one-year warranty by the builder, covering defects in workmanship or materials. Builders also frequently purchase additional warranties to cover their liability and to use as marketing tools. These additional home warranties are very specific about what they cover and many warranty contracts stipulate that the original one-year warranty is replaced by the new home warranty.
I can not recommend Systematic Home Inspectors enough. John is the owner, and I'm pretty sure, the only inspector in his company. You're not getting some random greenhorn. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. He showed up 30 min early, but didn't require I was there the whole time, which was helpful.

Repeat customer here. We have worked with the inspector (John) on two occasions within the last seven years and have been impressed both times. The things he noticed in the report saved us headaches later. The costs of the inspection was easily paid for by the problems noted in the inspection report. I used him for two new builds and you would be surprised the things that are noticed on new construction homes. I would recommend. He is very responsive. I had responses back to questions within 24 hours (usually less) and the inspection report came back less than six hours after it was completed.

What more can I say about this business and John that hasn't previously been stated. It's so hard these days to get great service from ANY business when you are paying any amount of money, from $1-thousands. However, this was not the case with John, he makes you feel like a life long friend. He does his job thoroughly and doesn't interrupt your daily activities. If you are looking for someone whom you can trust blindly, then John is the person for you. His inspection is thorough, detailed report and explains you if you don't understand something. Very professional and humble person. I rarely put reviews publicly unless I have had extreme experience - either very bad or very good. He performed a detailed, thorough inspection of our new home build and provided us with recommendations and resources needed to give us peace of mind going through this home buying process. We had some delays with our construction and had to reschedule but John was very accommodating and proactive to make sure we got the best service. I cannot say enough good things! John did the most comprehensive inspection on my home that I have ever experienced for a very reasonable price. The whole process went smoothly from booking the appointment to receiving the final report. He pointed out and explained problem areas along the way and made sure he left the home in the same condition as it was before he arrived. He is very personable and knows his stuff.
