Anthony's Shoe Service has been around since the 1920's, such that it is truly a CA 94108 institution. We were recently awarded the National Grand Silver Cup for our excellent, high-quality service. We can stretch, re-sole, re-stitch, and polish just about anything. Finally, that favorite pair of shoes of yours can really "last a lifetime.".

This shop is incompetent and unprofessional. I do not recommend it at all. This was a very unpleasant incident that happened pre-COVID, but it stuck in my craw, so I wanted to report it.
The shop owner (Gino, I think) took my purse and said that a simple repair on the strap could be done, no problem. When I returned to pick it up, the owner wasn't in. The strap wasn't repaired correctly at all and looked terrible. The receptionist didn't know anything about it, so she called over the leather worker. When I pointed out the (very obvious) mistake to him, he belligerently argued with

This place is so solid. Their work is top notch. You get what you pay for. After I brought in a heel my dog decided to chew on, he brought it back from the dead. I then brought in five more pairs 😭. The best quality you’ll find in the Bay. Again, this is hand crafted quality labor. Don’t expect Payless prices 🤷♂️

Anthony's is my new favorite shoe cobbler. Super patient, doesn't try to oversell and does amazing work. I needed the heels replaced on my Alden Indy boots and a new sole on my other aldens with a gum sole. I was shown dozens of options to replace the gum sole, but he could tell I was hesitant so he offered a temporary fix with a new gum heel while I think through a more long term fix. For the Indy boot I was stunned to see cats paw heels available. Couldn't be more thrilled with how my boots turned out and will recommend to everyone. He'll be receiving some loafers in the near

Just got my jacket back after a crash in February. The shoulder was severely damaged and I underwent surgery on my collarbone. George was very communicative, set expectations well and.....delivered an awesome jacket! He fully conditioned it and it looked brand new from a couple feet away. He warned me about a patch that could pee up if I was aggressive with it but the patch was done so well that I didn’t even notice it. I wasn’t expecting it to come out so well.
I was hesitant about paying the cost of a low end jacket for this repair but I’m so glad I did. Money well spent.

I walked in to the shop because the signage above still lists it as Mak and Co shoe repair yet the window says Anthony’s. When I asked if this was Mak and Co, I was told it was until I asked for Ming—a phenomenal cobbler btw. At that point, I was met with the rudest behavior. Rather than saying that this was not the shoe repair shop I was looking for and that it had closed and moved, the person at the front turned on his heels and walked to the back. I had to ask the seamstress why was I told this was Mak and Co if it wasn’t. She ushered me out the door. I have heard of Anthony’s over the

Used to come here a lot and they previously did a good job (although they did screw up a pair of Common Projects which I forgave). Recently brought in a Tom Ford belt and he charged me 65 to repair a slight issue with the stitching. He put "leather" tape on it, polished it (which I didn't ask for) and charged me $65. I had to come back less than a week after I received it, because it wasn't in any better than the condition I gave it to him in. Waste of money and rude service. Will take my leather goods elsewhere and would recommend you do the same.

It's all very well buying beautiful shoes, but over time your shoes are only as good as your cobbler. I have shoes and boots that are five, ten, fifteen years old, and I am able to wear them year after year because of the old world craftsmanship and care provided by Gino and his team.
Is this the cheapest shoe repair shop on the planet? No. Because the folks here actually know what they're doing, and they respect their metier as well as your footwear. I brought my Chloe booties to Anthony's to get re-soled and they did an amazing job! When I brought them in I spoke with Gino about what I wanted done and he offered me different options, without feeling like he was trying to do more than what was necessary. When I was heading to pick them up after work I was worried I wouldn't make it before they closed, but when I called he assured me they were ready and he would be there for me to pick them up.
The soles and heels looked amazing and he polished them so they looked brand good new again. Will definitely come back and recommend.

There seems to be a common theme from all the reviews on here... BAD ATTITUDE from the owner!!! Gino, the owner is rude, cocky, angry and disrespectful... I took a pair of shoes for possible repair (minor issue) and he literally told me to do it myself and walked away... I'm not one to leave bad reviews on any businesses, especially small businesses, however, you can't treat customers that way. Especially if they are being kind/polite to you! I used to send people to his business but not anymore... STAY AWAY and go to another cobbler that actually wants your business and treats you with

I went to Anthony's to repair my tango dance shoes and the service and work were both fantastic.
A friend had recommended the shop specifically for tango shoe repair. The leather soles on the bottom of my shoes got scuffed while dancing on pavement in a park (mistake). Women's tango shoes share many characteristics with nice dress shoes: often made of leather, sometimes hand-crafted, usually $150-$250 (or more), not available for sale everywhere - so difficult and expensive to replace. Additionally, tango shoes must function as well as look great - they must fit tightly so you can control

I've been holding onto a belt and one of my favorite pairs of shoes for the right repair service. After doing a little research I decided to go to Anthony Shoe Services and I'm so glad I did. The turn around was just over a week and the work done was spot on. Definitely taking any of my leather goods to them in need of some TLC. Thank you guys!!

I've used Anthony's for a while, there have been ups and downs but on the whole had a good experience. Always wondered about the actual quality of their work. Shoes never felt quite the same after getting them serviced but I chalked that up to the type of service and not their workmanship.
Two months after getting the soles replaced on my dress shoes, after maybe 10-15 days of wearing I started to feel a click on my sole walking through the airport. I look to see what's going on and the heel has fully detached from the shoe. So much for the premium sole that was supposed to last

Incredibly disappointed with the results, unfortunately. I paid over $100 to have two pairs of boots fixed; one pair needed new soles and the other to have its heels repaired. BOTH pairs' repair work peeled or became significantly loose after wearing them for about 30 minutes, as if the extra material was glued on with the wrong adhesive. By later in the day on the re-soled pair, the entire front half of the sole was beginning to come undone. The work was cheap, and I have since taken both pairs of boots elsewhere to be fixed yet again.

This great small company has been doing business in San Francisco downtown for many years.
I had originally went to another store downtown to purchase a shoe shine kit, but they only sold it online. I Went in to Anthonys to get some shoe shine products and the staff were very helpful in determining my needs and directing me to the best products to suit my needs. On top of that they are super patient, warm, and friendly. Its very nice to see a small company still thrive in downtown amid the all the high end retail takeover.
