This place is amazing! Great distance to downtown Mountain View, and on top of that close to 101 when traveling north or south! I do have to say, I am extremely happy to see that they're always improving the property with more cameras and new storage units being built. I heard that everyone gets one for free! I will keep you updated if anything changes, but from my experience, the staff and maintenance are on top of things.

I’m writing this review because I have lived here for less than a year and have witnessed so much theft in this apartment complex already. In the past 3 months, bikes from the second story apartment, all four wheels of a car and , just recently, my catalytic converter was stolen. I brought this problem up with management multiple times and (after some thefts later) they finally decided to put in an extra security camera in the lot where the thefts have been happening. Although I wish management could’ve taken action sooner, Ingrid (the manager) was really receptive to feedback and made sure

I have been living here for over a couple years and I love it! Its quiet, the managers are extremely nice and helpful and the amenities are great. My favorite is the outdoor fitness center! I have had no security concerns since I moved in so I am not sure what the reviews below are referring to. They are even building storage lockers for the residents. Great place to live.

Very concerned about safety and security.
When I moved in, this seems a very quiet and safe community. However, recently there had been 2 car incidents happened in a week.
A BMW's wheels are gone, and a Benz's window was broken.
As a resident here, I feel very unsafe. The apartment doesn't seem to be notifying/warning residents, and there is not any communication about the incidents at all. We don't know what happened, or what actions the apartment is going to take to prevent similar matter or make the community safer.

We finally our handy man's name, he is Dan, big thanks to him! He is dong a great job, we can tell, not just Dan but the whole Shadows Apt team really take care of our community, glad we choose this place : )
Moved in to Shadows from downtown so called" new building, modern and luxury" apartment is the best thing in 2020 to me. I saved more than 1.5k budget and get much more than before. I know people are complaining about the renting price, but if you give a look at other apartments and their prices, you will realize Shadows is the best choice. After you living here, you will find out people

I lived at the shadows for 3.5 years. I was paying over $3300 for a 1bd, which was significantly higher than other similar apartments. When I finally moved out, they stuck me with a $14 fee to throw away 2 lamps, which I left because there's no built-in light in the entire apartment (other than kitchen and bathroom) and I did not need them at the new apartment.
They are very well known to gauge people for move-out fees, they use communal water/heat/sewer fees, which are much higher than other local apartments. They didn't even send me a lease renewal, so if you do live there for a while, you need

I love living at the Shadows! I have lived here for over 2 years and it is very convenient and peaceful. There is a beautiful pear tree right outside my balcony. It is so fun to watch it change throughout the seasons, from green leaves to cherry blossoms. I also enjoy watching and hearing the birds. Each year a hummingbird makes a nest in one of the nearby trees! The apartments are in the ideal location. You can walk to Safeway, a tennis court, or Castro street. And it is right next to 3 gas stations, the 101, Google, and a movie theater. The staff is great too. They are always quick to respond
