At Ally Property Management, Inc., our management views resident selection as our most important function. You benefit from residents who have been carefully screened through the Member Regional Credit Association and ownership records of all surrounding counties. Each resident must complete a detailed application and meet minimum income requirements, rental or ownership history, and credit requirements.
The main reason why anyone would want to have us look after their property is because of our personal approach. First of all, we have about double the staff in our firm as the industry norms say we should have. This allows us to be proactive rather than reactive in taking care of problems.

My wife and I rented an apartment in Davis from Ally Property for 40 months between 2018 and 2022. I had a few different points of contact at their office over this time, from Joe to Katie, and everyone was wonderful. They were always fast in responding to any request or issue as well as being communicative. The handyman was normally on site the following day if requested, they replaced our oven without questions when we moved in and found some issues, they helped facilitate a lease transfer upon entry and exit, and they lent us a heater (which was brand new) at one point.

This is my first review ever but I am compelled to write and caution future renters (and the people who allow this management company to handle your property) to get out of this situation! Be weary of the management people and their business tactics.
Like other people have voiced- the employees in the leasing office are uncooperative, do not respond well to simple questions (i.e. got annoyed for asking for the one parking pass I am allowed, charged me for asking questions they did not bother to clarify when asking about a passdown, the list goes on), and frankly just outright unprofessional. I’ve been renting from Ally for over a year now. They’ve been very responsive and kind throughout my entire stay here. There has been a lot of little maintenance issues with the place, and even some bigger ones like a big tree needing to be removed. They handled every issue promptly and have been so patient with me (I feel like I’ve called a lot for maintenance, sometimes a couple different things in a week and some things turned out not to be a big concern). The maintenance guy who usually comes is super sweet and always does a quick and great job! I feel very comfortable here and am grateful

Completely unresponsive to issues with the property. When they do decide to fix things they don’t warn you when they will come and enter your property. When you have to deal with them they are rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Even for renting to mostly college students they are pathetic. Rent from literally anybody else in this town.

A friend and dear community member who rented a room from Ally passed away suddenly in his sleep. When asked if it was possible to forgive the few hundred dollars owed for the remainder of the month, the property manager refused and went on a tirade about legality. These people are heartless and only here for your money. Boycott if you can.

"We were very happy with our experience with Ally Property Management. Suzanne Riehl helped us navigate an incredibly tough year during the pandemic. She was able to respond and execute any house issues or repairs with thoroughness, compassion, and expedience. We would highly recommend working alongside Ally Property Management if you're a renter. The payment processes are easy and they're able to troubleshoot any issues that arise. They also hired some really awesome local contractors to do repairs at the house, and they seem to know what needs to be done for both the renter and the homeowner

I've had a positive experience with Ally, renting from them throughout my undergrad and graduate education. I can imagine being dissuaded by the negative reviews here, but don't be. There are some disgruntled people, but many like myself who have had a good experience. They are super responsive if repairs are needed and send someone that day or the next. I love that there is a small town family-like feel, with familiar and friendly faces in the office and among the maintenance crew.

So far, I have had a fine experience with Ally Property Management. They patiently answered the many questions I had about the application and leasing process, and helped make sure everything is clear and settled for my roommate and I going forward. I had a lot of questions that were probably sort of silly, as I am new to this whole process. I deeply appreciate the patience on their end.

Ally was the most unpleasant property manager I've ever dealt with. I'm a landlord myself (out of state), and I would never treat my tenants the way they treated me. I only ever asked for one repair--fixing the insufficient AC--and they were extremely rude to me on the phone, suggesting I was lying about the AC not working (and they never fixed it). They also have a policy of refusing to give rental references to current tenants, even if you have been a perfect tenant. Really terrible business.

We rented two properties from Ally in a 5 year span. They were always respectful, addressed all our concerns in a timely manner, and following the rules agreed to in our contract. Channel and Joe were always very responsive via phone and email. Their maintenance crew always did a good job, treated our property with respect and left the place clean. If you are looking for a no nonsense property management company, and you are a responsible adult renter, you can't go wrong with these guys!
