Top notch service and superb communication. Aaron gave me a clear description of what was needed - tie rod replacement - and a price, all in about one sentence. When I asked about other possible followup repairs, Aaron had already looked up the numbers and was able to quote them to me but didn't try to sell me. He communicated that he clearly understood the calculus of owning a 24 year old car and how much money you put in vs what you can get by with. Repair was completed and came in under the quoted price.

The mechanics here are very honest they will give you an honest estimate and you can Usually do it around your schedule I have been coming here for a 3 years and I trust the mechanics and would recommend it for European cars Japanese or any car .

The most honest trustworthy place in San Diego and probably in the nation, I would hand them My car keys and a blank check in a heartbeat. My car is an old 2006 VW, I had a problem with the cooling system which triggered the check engine light. The estimate was $850, the owner told me that my car was safe to drive, just an electronic problem that didn't really need to be fixed and he sure was right, 12 month later my car still going strong. Any other place would have pressured me into fixing the check engine light! A friend of mine had the car shaking when she was driving, other places came up

I needed a starter replaced and I did not have my tools so I decided to use a mechanic for this easy job. They charged me $400 on what really was a 15 minute job and an eighty-dollar part. Then, they told me it was going to cost me $400 to replace a belt tensioner which is basically a $60 part and a 20-minute job. I had already checked the belt tensioner I knew it was fine just needed to replace the belt.

100% the MOST reliable and trustworthy family owned auto shop you could ever go to. My whole family and close friends go to PB Foreign. Every time my friends ask me where they should go, I send them to PB Foreign. Aaron and George work on my Ford F-150 all the time and they provide the best customer service. I have been to terrible auto shops who have ripped me off and lied about the condition of my truck. I know PB Foreign will always take great care of my truck and have my best interest. I really like these guys! Took my 2006 Tacoma truck in for 60K service, and they took the time to really explain what they will look at, what is likely to be done, and what might also need to be fixed at additional cost. Gave me an honest and accurate estimate up front and stuck with it. Easy to drop off and pick up. I'll gladly bring my other vehicle here too, love finding a good, reliable and honest repair shop, obviously there's a reason they've been there so long and have always been busy. Good guys!

I have been sending my cars for repair to George and his son Aaron for the last 10 years. They have been always been honest with me and their pricing is very fair. In addition to be a family owned business and a family of great surfers, PB Foreign always tries to make your trip less painful as possible for your wallet but as we all know nothing replace a regular maintenance to avoid major unplanned costly repairs.

DONT DO IT ! I had my benz serviced and the engine light has stayed on .Aaron asked me to bring car in and have his dad check the engine light that his son could not turn off after my car was serviced . His dads reply $ $95. 00 more bucks to try to fix the engine light my son tampered with . My lesson stay with Mercedes Benz of San Diego it turns out my service b was not complete by PB foreign and Domestic . Guess what ? engine light is off and my car is back to normal . Shady !

Same as it was 7 years ago. I appreciate the honesty of the owner at this shop. Dealership told my I needed all four brake pads replaced and Aaron said that he only recommended the front. He also had some other recommendations for service but didn't pressure me when I opted out. You maybe not get a fancy rental car and you may have to wait a little longer but it's worth getting work done here. Still highly recommend these guys.

This auto repair shop has always been able to repair our college student daughter's Toyota 4-Runner, returning it to her in reliable condition. They are extremely good at diagnosing the problem(s), repairing it and also giving helpful advice. PB Auto gives us, as parents 6+ hours away, peace of mind that our daughter is being charged fairly and that she's driving a safe vehicle. For the one time they had to refer her to a different (smog check related) facility, that was a positive experience as well. We wish all repair shops were as trustworthy as Pacific Beach Foreign and Domestic

Great experience! I called ahead early in the morning to check and see if they had time to squeeze in a battery replacement and the man who answered the phone happily said yes. I dropped off my car and received a reasonable price for the battery replacement. I was told it would take around 40 minutes and they got it done even quicker than that! Very happy with how nice and efficient this place was.

TL;DR; Amazing service, amazing prices, honest mechanics. Really impressed.
I brought my car in thinking I just needed my tie rods replaced and was quoted a really good price. He also said he would check my engine lights for free which is $100 at a lot of other shops. When they inspected the vehicle they found the entire steering rack was broken and called me saying it would be a waste of money to replace the tie rods. They didn't charge me anything even when i offered. Amazing service from George at amazing prices. This car is mechanically totaled but i will definitely be bringing my future cars

Update since my last review. The warranty on my new car expired, so I'm back with George and Aaron. I had a weird problem with a terrible banging sound that I discovered just as George was about to close. But nevertheless, he took my car for a test drive to try to understand the problem. I took it in later, and he quickly diagnosed the problem. His mechanic noticed that both my back tires were dangerously damaged, so I had them replaced right away. PB Foreign rocks and I totally trust them.

This shop did a head gasket eight years ago on my 22re engine which requires taking apart the top of it and paying about $1,500. Today a toyota specialist at The Truck Shop explained to me that there was some unprofessional things done. PB foreign also managed to mess up a U Join on my truck with caused me to take off the drive shaft myself have it balanced and put back on myself with no further problems. Attached are the notes from the guys at The Truck Shop who rebuild my engine. Two stars because it did run for a while with my proper care and maintenance.

What the hell. Walked in and instantly got dirty looks. The guy working looked drunk as he stumbled and ran into the pole. He immediately yelled at us asking if we were looking for the dispensary. Umm no we were looking for a tow which he barely ubbered they didn't tow. Was very rude. I'll be spending my money else wear. Wouldn't want these guys touching my car..
