This place has the best Mozzarella I have ever had, the people are very respectfull and the aroma in the deli is outstanding, definetly a thumbs up for the quality of food and also Prices are very reasonable. Amazing italian food! This is one of the best italian deli's that you can come by! It used to be called by a different name but they changed the owner.

It's been almost ten years since I last reviewed Massimo Deli in Kenilworth. I still shop here on a regular basis, and if there is a better Italian deli in the area, I haven't heard about it.
They do a very big lunch sandwich business. Actually, I don't like their Italian sandwich rolls, they are very crusty on the outside. Like break your teeth or cut the roof of your mouth crusty. I do, however, love their sliced to order Imported cold cuts. My regular choices include their peppery prosciuttini ham, rich mortadella, aromatic sliced provelone cheese, and fabulous hard salami. I travel around New Jersey I am a commercial appliance repair tech and visit alot of restaurants..
I was at another store and found this place... I love Italian food...
So I went in the aroma of Italian food in the air is most pleasant.
I order a chicken cutlet w/ fresh moz, roasted peppers, little balsamic vinegar.
Amazing sandwich the bread had the right hardness on the outside and soft in the inside.

You're out of your territorial comfort zone (10+ miles away from home) and looking to refuel after giving blood (a shameless "humblebrag" you say? You bet'cha!) at a Knights of Columbus in Union.
After a few missteps (like Siri doing her best to lure me into some 50-mile adventure when I clearly wanted to stay within Union) I found myself in front of Massimo. While dillydallying outside (only three people allowed inside at a time during these COVID-times) I walked in and knew I found a great little deli.
It's clean and bright. All the expected staples lined the walls

I love the smell of an Italian deli when you walk in and you'll get that the moment you step inside. I live in a neighboring town but we come here often for fresh sandwiches and sliced deli meats. They have a great selection of deli meats, Italian canned goods, prepared meals, breads, pastas, creative sandwiches, and frozen delicacies as well. Everything is always fresh and tasty. There is something about the bread that makes those sandwiches something special.

This establishment has been in Kenilworth for a long time. I love this store. The have super fresh food. Delicious cooked food. If you are not Italian going into this store.... you will be coming out. They also cater. Great for the busy working couple. Stop going to the fast food places.....I love it.

$10 for a six inch mediocre sandwich is kind of far fetched if you ask me besides the fact that the guy gave me a call thin layer of prosciutto is what killed it for me. For the same price I get a full sandwich from Antonio's market with better quality bread and a lot more meat on my sandwich. Sad to say will be my first and last visit here.

This is a hidden little gem I found a couple years back. Everything here is worth a try. I'm not Italian myself but this place definitely makes me wish I had Italian roots complete with cooking secrets. My favorite thing to have here is called THE MASTERPIECE . It is no joke . I can literally finish the 12 in version and would not mind trying to finish a 2nd one. Don't spend sub money anywhere else. Something else I love about this place is the ravioli . They are to die for . This place also sells some Italian spices and food like a mini Italian corner in a grocery store.

Really I’d give this place 4.5 stars if I could. Everything I’ve had has been fresh and delicious. Great classic Italian gourmet deli. Maybe my only gripe is that they don’t have some normal deli items like potato chips and stuff like that. I don’t want tarrales with my sandwich I want chips. Also more expensive than most places but the product is very good.

#11, #20, #21, #28, #41 - best sandwiches ever. Mike, Frank, and the rest of the staff are always friendly; they really try to make the experience the best possible.
Everyone at my workplace loves this place so much that we order catering from them for special events. We've also created a Massimo support group at work, with dozens of members to console one another when they close the one week in the summer.

God I love this place.
They have the best subs hands down. My husband surprised my for my birthday and brought me here. We got an Italian sub whole with all the fixings.
We took it home as they don't have seating there to eat. But that's the best part because once we got home and I was able to sink my teeth in it all the seasoning and oil/Vinegar soaked the meats and bread it was just so perfect.
I love the smell of the fresh meats and cheeses. It's definetly an authentic Italian store and you can buy the best pasta and ingredients there too.

One of the greatest delis around. The sandwiches are so big here! My husband and I can usually split one sandwich for lunch. They really do pack the meat and everything inside well.
I typically go for the House special which is a little similar to in Italian sandwich but the dressing is delicious. Always fresh ingredients and I've always been pleased with my sandwich here.

Picked up a sandwich here for lunch. I ordered a turkey and cheese with lettuce, tomatoes, onions oil and vinegar . I had the half and it was def. a decent size. Just like most deli's they stuff the sandwich with so much meat! But that's fine, for the price your paying for you get more! The bread was super fresh and the place was also clean! The only thing was parking. They are located on a busy street so there is only street parking. I paid $8 for the sandwich which is fairly decent. Next time I will def ask for more oil and vinegar, I felt it was missing a little flavor. If your around

This place is very legit for Italian cured meats.
Too bad there's no table inside to dine in. I got my large massimo special and ate it at my desk at work.
I'd come back and maybe enjoy at a park bench outside on a nice day.
There's also hot food for you to heat up for dinner/lunch too.
