At Millburn Deli, our sandwiches have been telling a story for over 70 years now. Since 1946, we've been innovating around one simple idea: good food you'll want to order again and again. To achieve that, we make our lineup in house, by hand, so we can personally guarantee the quality. Whatever you order from the Godfadda to the Gobbler, you're going to know that we put the work into it.
We cooked and sliced the meats, made the sauces, and stuffed it with just the right combo of fixings.

Services
We've been perfecting our sandwiches since 1946, but we like to think of ourselves as lifelong learners when it comes to making great food. We're constantly experimenting and pushing the limit, trying out new things to make sure our menu evolves with us-- while keeping the old classics just as they are.
We've got you covered from start to finish. Get some Munchies to warm them up, give them the pitch with our crazy good sandwiches, bring it home with one of our Tasty Additions and seal the deal some Guilty Pleasures. Check out the selection below or give us a call to see how we can cater your next event.
We'd love to have you join our team! Feel free to send in your resume even if you don't see the position you're looking for listed. Key Responsibilities: As a sandwich maker for our very busy Deli, you will be primarily responsible for rapidly assembling multiple sandwiches at the same time. REAL insurance from United Healthcare - not one of those flimsy plans that pays for nothing (we see you Whole Foods)!

Wow, lots of haters in the Peoples Republic of Montclair. I'm vaxxed and boosted, so don't care if a counter person is masked.
Great sandwiches, same standards as the Millburn flagship, quality ingredients-and the key to a great sloppy Joe is the thin cut rye. I do agree that the potato salad can be, well, crunchy at times. Long live the Millburn Deli.

Deli sandwiches are pricey but delicious - in my opinion, worth it. But build your own sandwiches online appear to be *wildly* expensive - upwards of 8 or $9 per major ingredent. Makes it pretty much impossible to build your own unless you're building something that has just one meat and one cheese -- but maybe I'm misunderstanding how the online build your own sandwich options work - for example, an Italian sub with the exact same meats that the std menu item has shouldn't cost four times (50$+!!) the amount unless they are also putting four times the amount of meat on? I'll have to take a screenshot

Probably on of the best and most well known deli's in NJ. Plenty of variety on the menu and the food is delicious everytime.
The staff is super polite and helpful, the place is always clean, the quality of the food is always consistent, and it's usually ready for pickup whenever ordering ahead, even when it's busy. These are all things that must be commended!
However, I can't help but feel this place is over priced. $14 for a sandwich from a DELI and I don't even get chips? A full pickle? I still have to pay for something trivial like extra mayo? Those are just nitpicks but I felt they are worth

Great deli and business! I have been coming here for years and their food is the best around.
Over the summer, I did have an issue with them but I contacted the owner and he made it right. Obviously problems can happen, to me its more important that the business makes it right and with MD they certainty did!

Now I will preface this with the fact that I'm from Virginia and visited this place while visiting my partner for the holidays. After years upon years of what I thought were cream of the crop sandwhiches here in the south, this place takes the cake. I had the Godfadda and I now know why god invented the panini press. A must visit.

With all due respect, I’ve defended your honor as being the best deli I’ve ever been too… I defended you vs Oscar’s, and vs town deli in SO… however I just got an off the menu sandwich I’ve ordered for 32 years… and this is the very first time I have to complain, your baguettes are completely different than what they used to be… I looked forward to a lacerated top of my mouth and my jaw being sore for a day because of a Michelin star sandwich… today that was not the case… I desperately pray your opening of other locations hasn’t diminished “THE MILLBURN DELI”

These maskless or nose-drooper mask evaders can't make a sandwich that isn't flawed with either 1) too much mayo; 2) too much bad meat and flavorless inexpensive cheese; 3) stale bread; 4) sloppy mis-cut halfs. You want a side? Try the un-cooked, raw, slathered in mayonnaise "potato salad." Maybe Montclair is getting Millburn's unsold throwaways, I don't know. But if there was ever a disappointing addition to the town's culinary offerings, this is it.

All sandwiches are over $10. had a roound roll which didn't seem fresh, the outside of roll flaked off like it was day old bread. Asked for shredded lettuce and got a few leaves. Added a large bag of chips which seemed only 1/2 filled it was only 6oz whereas regular bag of chips is 8oz, and 2 root beers and paid $22. I miss the wachung deli....

, Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I was under the impression that the Millburn Deli was 1 of the great NJ delis but it wasn't when I went there. I expected to have a great Rueben but the corned beef was tasteless and similar to the corned beef found in the deli section at Shop Rite or any other supermarket. I might return for their famous sloppy joe but that won't be until I forget how bad the Rueben was.

When I heard that a branch of the Millburn Deli was opening in Montclair, I was cheered. This place came highly recommended. But you know what? Save your money--if you like real deli, with good corned beef or pastrami. As for the sloppy joes, a Jersey specialty; or even something as simple as a cheese sandwich (Three's Company, a panini with asiago, cheddar, and fontina): they're just...okay. This is the kind of place that believes in plenty of mayonnaise and sugar, whether it's the coleslaw in the sandwiches or what the plastic containers of pasta salad are swimming in.

I along with many others were anxiously awaiting this place opening casually driving by and seeing if the lights are on and the hiring sign taken down. Finally a soft opening happened last week and it's just as good as the other locations. The sloppy Joe is their go to and it's great but just be aware it's with a good amount of Russian dressing and coke slaw hence the sloppiness which I personally go for but others like a tidy Joe perhaps. The staff are quick and very friendly and helpful. I will be hurting my arteries more often than I should now that it's a quick walk away

I was so psyched to see this spot open so trekked out soon after opening. The place is takeout only FYI.
Service was super friendly and attentive. Huge menu of sandwiches and even salad but that is it. No sides to really speak of besides chips and some things like pasta salad in a grab and go fridge. My Mutz sandwich ($12.50) which is one of the veggie ones as it's basically just pesto, veggies, and mozzarella. Verdict: Nothing too special, hearty but meh. The Mac n cheese and sloppy Joe (we also ordered) were also sort of bland and "just ok."

Quite surprised by this place, I know it's a staple in Milburn, but I had never been there! This place must offer over 70 sandwiches, and various delicious plates...a little overwhelming but an awesomely made sandwhich! Very crowded depending on when you go, but they run that place like an assembly line! Fast in, fast out! Loved it!

After about 2 years of hearing how good the sandwiches are here, I finally made my way over. The Gobbler was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The Gobbler was delicious and tasted fresh. It was so good, I had to try something else since I wasn't sure when I would make my way back so ordered a different sandwich to go for dinner that night. In general, the place seems to be top notch for a deli and they have a large selection of sandwiches, drinks, and sides.
