Services
Proper eye care is important for people of all ages and regular eye exams are encouraged for everyone, but especially for those already using glasses or contact lenses. Your vision plays a vital role in your life each and every day, which is why it is so important to take the right steps for maintaining good eye health.
Here at Hudson River Eye Care, we are proud to offer LASIK surgery co-management in conjunction with TLC Laser Eye Center in White Plains. LASIK stands for laser in-situ keratomileusis and is a popular surgery to correct vision problems. LASIK can help people who are nearsighted or farsighted as well those who have astigmatism.
Here at Hudson River Eye Care, we are dedicated to caring for your eyes when you have diabetes. Diabetic eye disease can cause vision loss if you are not careful. It can cause you to have trouble with everyday tasks even if you have regular glasses or contacts. It can even cause blindness. If you have diabetes, you really need to monitor your vision.
Rigid Gas-Permeable Lenses are hard contact lenses that provide correction for very poor vision and conditions causing blurry vision, such as an astigmatism. The lenses provide very clear vision and will not slide on the eye as much as a soft lenses, but they aren't as comfortable and can be a difficult adjustment.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is the eye condition where close objects are clear but objects that are far away are blurry. The percentage of people who develop myopia is increasing dramatically, and there are both genetic and environmental factors determining onset and progression. For example, myopic parents have more myopic children than non-myopic parents.

I tried to come in to look at their frames and find out if they take my insurance. The lady who came out confirmed they work with our insurance but did not allow us in without an appointment to even briefly look at their frames. I can't decide to make an appointment for an eye exam if I don't have an idea of the selection of frames and pricing. I understand covid protocols which is why we are vaccinated and wear masks. Of course they can have the rules they want but as a potential client or patient I think not allowing masked people to look around without having to make an appointment is ridiculous

My husband Rob C and I recently bought eye glasses and frames from HREC. We've been going here for years. Rex and Terry took care of us. We can't say enough good things about the way Rex in particular handled Rob's unique situation. Very professional, very knowledgeable, and very courteous. Although rare to find these days, such service sure does exist at Hudson River Eye Care. It's our Go-to. Thanks HREC!!
