There is never a good time for an emergency! We do provide a doctor to consult with after hours and can take care of some minor emergencies as well. For major emergencies, we refer our patients to the 24-hour Animal Emergency and Referral Clinic in Oakdale, MN.
They have a qualified emergency veterinarian and trained staff on duty during the evening hours and weekends allowing them to be prepared for major surgical or medical emergencies when we are closed.

Keeping your pets healthy is the goal of the entire staff. We recommend a complete physical exam at least once a year, and sometimes every 4 to 6 months as your pets get older. Our pets age much more rapidly than we do and some significant changes can occur in just a few months!
Our preventive health recommendations for your pet will be made on the findings from our physical exam and individualized based on the needs, environment, and lifestyle of you and your pets. Some preventive recommendations may include diet changes, dental care, vaccinations, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, heartworm prevention, and flea and tick control.

Does your pet have bad breath? Tarter and plaque accumulations on the teeth not only cause bad breath but can also lead to heart disease, kidney disease, or liver disease. Hillcrest Animal Hospital offers complete dental care for your pets including cleaning, digital radiology, extractions, and polishing.
Our doctors are trained in advanced surgical techniques if your pet requires surgery. Our CO2 Laser will be used for almost all surgeries. The benefits of laser surgery include less pain, less bleeding, and less swelling which makes recovery much easier for your pets. Pain medications may be sent home with your pet as well if it is necessary.

We used to go to this vet all the time when Dr. Cole was there. Dr. Cole was hands down the best vet we’ve ever been to. Now they are complete garbage. The staff is new and rude, Dr. Lystrup is rude and Dr. Vandeberg has misdiagnosed our cat. Do not recommend to anyone.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. This is by far the best animal hospital I've ever been to. I've been repeatedly screwed around by other vets and ripped off multiple times. I was encouraged to contact Hillcrest after being informed that my dog needed $6,000 worth of surgeries to get another opinion and physical for my dog. Not only did they get me in right away, they discovered that I was basically being lied to once again and that my dog in fact did not need the surgery! Dr. Chris Cole was very professional, honest, up front and was able to back up everything he said. He could have put my

I actually did not make an appointment but had a question that was answered over the phone by a technician. She was so very helpful, informative, and simple and direct in her delivery. I will most definitely choose Hillcrest for my future vet needs, hands down superior service to the clinics in the area.

I took my cat there to have her examined only because my normal vet had no openings and I needed her to be seen for a frequent vomiting issue. I was told there was nothing wrong with her and was given some medicine to help “calm” her stomach down. The day later I returned home and found her throwing up again. I took her to her normal vet in an… emergency and it turns out within 20 minutes they were able to diagnose the problem and explained she had an enlarged pancreas and was severely dehydrated and needed surgery to remove a foreign object from the stomach. So al in all considering

I’m so glad we switched vets and came to Hillcrest! Recommended to us by my dear friend Leanne. All of them that work here are so awesome! We have had a couple of our dogs here to see Dr. Chris. And just had to send one of older sweet babies to Rainbow Bridge. They were so amazing. Sent a beautiful card with everyone that works there writing a special message about our beloved Shandy. I couldn’t recommend any better Vetertrinary clinic then here! Thank you to everyone that works here for all they do for our beloved pets!♥️♥️
