Cozy Cafe Johnston is a Full Service Sit down Restaurant, We have a counter you can sit at, to eat and drink, catch up on the news, sporting event, or my favorite, watch The Food Network program on our T.V.'s, or visit with one of our friendly servers. Our Menu includes Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner available ALL DAY, The Restaurant also Offers Private Dining/Meeting rooms, Banquet Dining, Banquet Menus, Catering Menus.
If you don't feel like a burger or tenderloin, you can order entrees like the house specialty, cavatelli, spaghetti and meatballs, or pizza, made with Graziano sausage. The restaurant has seating for individuals looking for a quiet moment, couples, families, Private Dining rooms are available for groups of 32 and/or 60 plus (no charge for the room) all we ask is that you eat.

My name is Steve Britton, I have been in this line of work for over 35 years, I am a somewhat self taught Chef (In the beginning I was taught by my Mother she was a certified Chef) that, I believe is where my love of food preparation and service started, most would say I didn't have a choice but to go into this business, as both of my folks were in the Hospitality arena, (Dad was a Food and Beverage Manager in the Hotel Business) so Culinary from Mom and Hospitality from Dad.

I am a big breakfast fan and this is one of the best!!! Been here a few times traveling through and it never disappoints. The food is homemade goodness and the people are friendly and deliver the expected Midwest and hometown customer service. A small stage in the back features some of the best local entertainment on the weekends which makes Cozy Cafe an excellent family restaurant.

Today was my first time trying Cozy Cafe and let me tell you, I will be back again and again! I got the chicken and noodles and it stayed plentiful hot back to Camp Dodge. My intent was half for lunch and the rest for dinner tonight, but it was so good, I couldn't stop myself! I absolutely loved the homecooked-style meal. Can't wait to try them again after the holiday!

Our first visit to this restaurant. It looks as though it was a old style diner from the outside. The name suits the place because it had a cozy feeling to it when you walked in thru the door. The food was good. We didn't walk away hungry. The servings were plentiful. We are planning on going again to try more dishes on their menu! Home cooking. Tastes great 👍

Such a cute cafe/restaurant, waitress/host was very friendly. I got a slice of coconut pie and biscuits and gravy. The coconut pie was not what I was expecting, I was really hoping it was going to be coconut cream pie, but it was like coconut pudding. I didn’t like it very much, and I should’ve looked closer before I bought it. The biscuits and gravy were good, but the gravy seemed like it might’ve came from a can or a package. Although the biscuits did seem to taste homemade. Very cool vintage diner feel, but idk that I would go back.

They have good food but need to work on their online order / takeout system.
I had no way to customize my order online, so ended up having to pick the tiny pieces of tomato off my salad.
The fries were put into a sealed container. When I arrived a minute or two before my pickup time, the food was already packaged.
The fries were soggy... they should consider putting food like that into a container with air holes like most restaurants do now.

Good variety for breakfast - without having so much that it is overwhelming. They serve bfast all day.
This time I had the Cozy Mess- light. Hashbrowns topped with cheese, green peppers, ham, tomatoes, onions, sausage, jalepenos, egg, and I added sausage gravy. Very good! I wish the hashbrowns were cooked more, but tasty as can be. Came with a piece of toast.
I had been craving something chocolate for days so had a piece of the chocolate cake for breakfast dessert. Wonderful!
My server was fine. I noticed there could be some cleaning. Cobwebs from the lights above the tables....stuff like that

I don't understand all the complaints. People get busy, and distracted so if you need someone's attention raise your hand and wave them over. I have no problem doing that.
Also, If you're looking for comfort food that's good and cheap, this is your place.
Before ordering their cakes and pastries ask if they're fresh or when they were made ... cause you know, flour based foods stale quickly.
Give this place a chance. If you have an issue, just let them know. WhIle you're there. That's how they can improve. Be nice about it. If you're not satisfied tell
