I recently went to this campground with a group of 12 friends and had a remarkable weekend. Our campsite was right along the beautiful river equipped with a fire pit, picnic table, and plenty of space for our cars and tents. We love this campground! It's in the banks of the Esopus creek which provides fishing, swimming for our dog and scenic place to sit by a campfire at night and watch the moon.

Beautiful tent sites right on the river. 5 minute walk to Tanbark Trail and less to the beautiful little village Phoenicia (go to the pizza place). We had a great stay and Linda and George who own the place are awesome.

Great place! Gives you the perfect mixture of being outdoors in nature while still having common amenities such as a bathroom, shower and even a communal sink to wash dishes!

One of the best and my new favorite campground. The atmosphere, location and host/hostess are the best. Great hospitality, rolling water and friendly campers and a bonus if you see a Bear. We will be going back, often.

We always have a great time and try to go a few times a year, owner is straightforward and doesn’t play any games. Try to get a site by the water if not ask when it’s clear to do so. Water is amazing, peaceful out there and close by shops and food if you want to change up dynamic. Everyone is nice, real laid back.

Foolishly I ignored the bad reviews. My wife booked our tent site for the last weekend in July. We met George and Linda who both seemed very nice. But after 10pm all h*ll broke loose. If you are looking for a place to have a kegger, get drunk, scream and blast music all night with no rules or restrictions this is the place for you. If you are looking for a family or couple retreat stay away from this campground. We paid for 2 nights but after the first night we couldn’t leave fast enough. Several large groups partying until 7am. The owners get the complaints but don’t seem to care.

CASH ONLY!! If you want a fire- you will need TWO bundles for each night $15 total/night. Creek tent sites $40/night for 2 people. You can walk to Phoenicia market in 3 minutes. You are paying for the creek tent sites (amazing!!!) picnic table, fire pit, water spigot, electric. Go fishing & swimming in the creek. Fall asleep to creek noise. Wake up to beautiful view!!! The owner very nice guy. NO VERIZON CELL SERVICE! The men’s restrooms are more like “outhouse.” The showers are WARM not hot. Very primitive bathrooms compared to other campgrounds. Need major updating. Restrooms look like

We spent a weekend here, and had a campsite next to the river. The river is beautiful, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. However, the campsites are small and close together. Before coming I had read reviews saying the place is a parking lot, which I didn’t understand—but now I do. There are a lot of RVs, and the spaces are so close together that it does look like an RV dealership. The bathrooms and showers were quite dirty, even for a campsite. Whenever I went, there was either no toilet paper or no soap. For the price, I was expecting better facilities, and a bit more space between

If I didn't love this place so much I'd give it one star so no one else would go. It's amazing. No cell service. Not many things to do. Not many radio stations let alone tv. A great way to truly get away and be in the out doors without being out in the middle of no where. Black bears come through daily and keep to themselves. Its absolutely amazing. Fantastic family experience camping. Will be coming for many years to come.
