Leo & Sons first opened its doors in 1975 at 505 South Broadway in South Lawrence, and later expanded to its current location at 157 South Broadway in 1981. My 2002 Honda Accord kept failing inspection and my mechanic and the Honda dealership were unable to solve the problem. I know nothing about cars and how to fix them.

I went in for an EV Health Check on my 2012 Chevy Volt with 200,000 miles. Matt and the technicians were incredibly knowledgeable and professional and I would recommend them to anyone with an older car or to to a pre-purchase inspection on a car you are considering buying, especially a used electric or hybrid. They are awesome!

Leo & Sons is very professional. I went to them based on their reviews and proximity to my house. I go for regular oil changes. My car was making noise when starting up every now and then and based off of a video I took of the issue they were able to identify the problem (timing belt was loose) and fix it. No more noise! Very reliable folks. I feel confident taking my car there for any issue.

Matt is the best! He communicates well with customers and addresses their concerns with patience. He is also very transparent and aware of the customer’s needs. He is the reason I am leaving this review. I went to school for Marketing and Matt is the definition of what we call excellent customer service that keep customers coming back even by word of mouth. I went here for an oil change and to check my fluids, a couple weeks ago, and I was very happy with the mechanic's service and their price. I also appreciated that their personnel were all wearing masks (this is during COVID pandemic, and a different local mechanic/car service place where I drove to get gas & considered making an oil change appt did not have staff wearing masks!). They didn't push any extra work/replacements (like Jiffy Lube & Valvoline always do), but they did let me know I might want to consider getting some part (don't remember what--it's all Greek

Will never do business with again. Failed my inspection for a "worn" tire. Went and got all 4 replaced and when I went back got the door closed in my face because they were done for the day, with 20 minutes before their posted closing time of 5pm. All they had to do was look at tie and give me sticker. Instead I have to miss work and go back another day.

We recently purchased a used Prius v and needed an inspection sticker. While looking for a local repair shop trained in hybrids we found Leo & Sons. They not only completed the inspection in 20 minutes but also checked over the vehicle and ran a diagnostic on the hybrid battery! We will definitely get our vehicles serviced here again.

Amazing! I thought that my Prius was dead because the battery went at 260K miles. Nope! They replaced only one of the cells, rebalanced the full battery pack and my car runs like the day I got it. My wife had gotten 297K miles on her Gen 1 before her battery died and she reluctantly trashed the car at that point. How awesome that I can have my car running again after the red triangle of death. Very excited. This place is a great find for hybrid owners.

I would like to comment on my experience with Leo and Sons. It was awesome on many levels. First, my story. My daughter drives an older Lexus hybrid SUV. After returning from a trip, the car showed warnings about the hybrid battery. To make a story short, it was towed to a dealer who analyzed it and contacted me with an estimate of over $6000. It was to replace the hybrid battery. The dealer suggested this was more than the car was worth (120K mileage), so, I could dispose of the car more easily by purchasing a replacement off their lot - otherwise there was disposal costs.

On the way home to Southern NJ from Maine, the engine of of our 2009 Subaru had a catastrophic failure on Interstate 426. AAA was very quick in swooping up the car and the 3 of us. AAA deposited us and the car at Leo & Sons. Leo and Matt took us right in and determine that the engine was not repairable. Weighing our options after consulting our mechanic back home we decided to have Leo & Sons install a remanufactured engine and we would rent a car to get home. There are allot of national chains where you can get work done but I prefer a local mechanic I know and Leo and Son is a perfect fit for me.
