Services
Robyn has a strong background in gymnastics as an athlete and wanted to "Pass it Forward" and became a coach at a YMCA in South Pasadena. She coached through her college years and when she had children, her oldest JJ Ross was introduced to the sport of gymnastics at a young age and started the whole ball of wax all over again!
Champion Gymnastics & Cheer in Santee is accepting applications for dynamic and energetic Coaches to join our kid-friendly, family-friendly youth sports facility. At Champion, we believe strongly in promoting an environment where children can thrive in their sports development while at the same time have fun learning.
This will not only give you a good idea on what is best class for your child to be enrolled in, but will also help to determine if your child is ready to be moved up to the next level. We are in process of preparing similar skill sheets for other recreation classes of tumbling, parkour, aerial silks, and rec cheer.
If you have an athlete enrolled in classes and a second child is also enrolled, you would pay full price for Child 1. Child 2 receives 10% discount, Child 3 (and any others) receives 15% discount. If athlete is enrolled in more than one program, you would pay full price of the program with the highest tuition.
Champion Gymnastics & Cheer offers private lessons for our current members as well as non-members. Whether you need to perfect a cartwheel, get your kip, back tuck, or work on your double-full, someone at CGC can help you. Many high school girls book privates to enhance their tumbling skills in preparation for Cheer Team.

I really want to like this gym. I really do. My kids still go there because we found good coaches after trial and error in the different levels.
FRIENDLINESS / CUSTOMER SERVICE
Some of the coaches are really outgoing and awesome! Unfortunately the remainder of the staff is hit or miss. The front desk staff is mostly unfriendly which is a total bummer.
COACHING COMPETENCY
I'm not a gymnast. But I know lazy when I see it. Again, some of the coaches are amazing. The others are not and they never seem to get talked to about it?

I tried to register my son here for their parkour class. He is diagnosed on the Autism spectrum so I put it on the medical form. It wouldn't let me fully register him online so I called. The kid who answered seem very nice when I told him about what I was trying to do he told me I had to talk to someone else. The owner came on before asking me anything about my son told me that they can't have kids on the spectrum at their gym. I asked why not and she said that her coaches weren't qualified to take care of them. I continued to ask what she meant and asked if their was special training

This company is not inclusive to children that may have a disability or children on the spectrum . Furthermore they actually stated on the phone that if your child doesn't act like a normal child then they can not participate. Who says that ?! Definitely wouldn't want my kids going somewhere that has this type of mindset.

One of the best gyms in SD. My daughter has attended this gym for almost 7 years now. She has grown up with many other students and the coaches. The coaches are like family to her and I appreciate that very much. I feel as though they look out for the children's best interest, and safety. I have nothing but great things to say about Thomas, Brittany, Austin, Vanna, and so many more that work at Champion. Both my children have done sports with Champion and have no complaints (well maybe a bigger parking lot lol). Thank you for everything you do!!!

My son has been going here for a couple months now. He's enrolled in the mini-champs classes. I was able to get him into two classes and we absolutely love it!!!
My son has had several different teachers lead his class which I like. I feel the added exposure to adults helps build confidence. Also the I assume the varying teaching styles help build skills. All of the staff I have interacted with have been kind and approachable!!
The place is pretty busy. That being said parking hasn't been much of a problem. Pick up and drop offs go smoothly.
The only room for improvement I can give

I was looking for a special gift for a family friend. She is 8 years old and has been wanting to do gymnastics for awhile. I called a bunch of different places for availability, Champion Gymnastics was not my first call. All the other gyms did not have classes available on the days that would not conflict with her soccer games/practices. Luckily Champion Gymnastics has Sunday classes, which is not normal, but it was perfect for us. Their online portal is super easy and when I called about having registration issues I was helped right away, so awesome customer service.

What a fantastic first day we had. Austin taught the Tumble Bees class and made Tiara feel welcome and comfortable. His humor and ability to remember names created a fun, enriching environment. Lucky for us Austin and ( I'm sorry I didn't get the other coach"s name) was also the Coach for Beginners Parkour! Kingston was anxious beginning his class today but left full of confidence and eager to come back. Thank you for such a great experience!

CGC is amazing!
It is a family run gym and the staff is always reevaluating things to ensure that they’re providing the best for their gymnasts. My daughter is on the competitive gymnastics team and the coaches are amazing. Champion is like a home away from home for the gymnasts and I feel great knowing that my girl is being well taken care of. They work the girls hard while also providing a positive atmosphere for them. The EXCEL team and the boys team are also top notch.

We have been with Champion Gymnastics and cheer for about 3 years now. The coaching staff along with the owners have always treated us as family. The fact that they know all the kids and parents names and take the time to get to know you, not just your athlete, They have taken extraordinary measures during this extremely difficult time to keep our children safe and healthy while attending their training classes. With new state of the art air bags, cleaning system for all equipment, along with hand sanitizing stations. One of best decisions we ever made for our son.

My daughter started at Champion gymnastics in January on their competitive team. We absolutely love it here. We came from a gym that we were at for four years but decided to look for a more competitive facility. We did trials at every gym in the area. Champion Gymnastics is the perfect fit. They have amazing role models as coaches that teach kids to work hard and do better without ever putting them down. My daughter begs to go to gym because of the amazing environment. We are so happy here and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to put their kids in gymnastics!!

Our son has been assisting for over 6 months now. First I want to say how amazing is to see a gym with regular gymnastic classes for boys. Most gyms in San Diego offer parkour or martial arts for boy like boys can’t be gymnastics! So I’m so grateful to find a place where my son can learn and improve his gymnastics skills. They are super clean, and they have handle the pandemic very well, providing a safe and fun environment for the kids

For the record, this is my first online review of any kind on any platform. I feel like I need to share one of the best kept secrets and values in all of San Diego. My family (two daughters and a son) came because of the gymnastics (WOW) and overall athletic training (WOW). We stayed because of the character building. I know for a fact my children are better people and able to handle the twist and turns of life because they have been a part of the Champion Gymnastic and Cheer family. We love Champion Gymnastics! Both our kids have been attending for years. The instructors are professional and knowledgeable and the owners go above and beyond in every way possible. My daughter was pre-team at another facility before moving to Champion, and I can honestly say that we could not be happier with our choice to enroll her at Champion. The owners are incredibly communicative, kind and exhibit in their every behavior and decision regarding their programs that they care about the kids and what is best for them over anything else. They have employed the best protective technology in the wake of COVID 19 (air pits instead of marshmallow pits, special cleaning and sanitization procedures both during and after practices, mask requirements, etc.). Champions gymnastics has been a wonderful place for my kids to learn and develop many athletic skills. Both my daughter and son have been attending the gym for several years and the strength, agility, and discipline they have developed is amazing. Since they offer a variety of sport activities my kids have also been exposed to more experiences at a single location. In addition, the trainers are top notch. They break down the maneuvers into small increments allowing the kids to digest each section of the task in order for them to process it.
I highly recommend Champions for all kids.

My children have been taking classes at Champion Gymnastics and Cheer for almost a year and absolutely LOVE it! All of their coaches have been wonderful. I have been especially impressed with everything they have done to reopen after Covid closures. They have gone way above and beyond what is required of them to keep everyone safe with appropriate distancing, sanitation measures, and even new equipment! My kids are so happy that they can attend classes in person-it is definitely the highlight of their week!

My son started gymnastics here over a year and a half ago. We figured it would be good to help with coordination and strength and to get that extra energy out. We weren’t expecting him to fall in love with it the way he has. Champion gymnastics has turned his hobby into a passion. Coach JJ is great with all of the kids and inspires them to believe in themselves. It’s so rewarding to see my son achieve goals and be proud of himself. This is an amazing gym with great values and their priorities straight. It’s all about the kids here!

My daughter has been taking classes with coach Lena for over a month now and she absolutely loves it! Lena is paitent and kind with the kids and does such a great job of understanding their skill level and keeping them engaged! She is sweet and respectful and clearly knows what she is doing. We are so happy to have found this gymnastics gym!

We had our daughters 8th birthday party here. Best deal in town! JJ was amazing and so great with the kids. We had over 20 kids and he coordinated their activities and made sure they had a great time. Everyone loved it- even the parents had fun. Based on our experience we will definitely be looking at their summer camps and gymnastic classes. They provided all the tables and chairs and made sure we had everything we needed. We can't say enough positive things about our experience. Thank you Champion Gymnastics for giving us such a great day.

Such a clean and well organized facility. You can tell the owner takes great pride in his gym. He is also an instructor there and the rest of his team members seems to be just as great. My 6 year old loves it here so far. It's amazing to see other gymnast trained here. They have some really great talented kids! I've been at other gymnastics facilities that lacked A LOT of things from dirty facility, bad service, and extremely un-organized. Here at Champion Gymnastics, they definitely deliver quality work. Keep up the great work guys!

I was with champion a few years back, and wish I had never switched gyms, I was at infinity gymnastics and cheer for a year, and through out the year I spent a lot of money to get her to improve and was not getting what i was paying for, and spent the whole year watching her kneel during all of the competitions, by the end of the season she only had her front forward roll, I recently brought her back to champion and within the month she has her front hand spring and pretty much her front walk over, the communication with the coaches is wonderful, the atmosphere is welcoming and wonderful, there

We have been through multiple gymnastic studio's in Santee and was on the hunt for something better. Not only do they offer multi level recreational & competative levels but they also offer PARCORE!!! 8)
Our son had been begging us to start Parcore but after several phone calls and a ton of research we realized our city does not have any established classes for this outside activity. We where able to come tour the facility as soon as I called & fell in love with the staff and how they genuinely care about all the kids. Fantastic facility

JJ and Champion Gymnastics & Cheer ("CGC") are wonderful. Our daughter attends gymnastics there regularly and loves it. Not only is the gym top notch, but the staff are very caring and create an awesome environment for the kids.
Tip: CGC is an amazing place to have a kid's birthday party (or other party event). Inexpensive and perfect for the kids. We had our daughter's 4th b-day there and we had parent after parent telling us it was one of the best kid's b-day parties they had ever been to and that they were going to book a party there. I recommend it.

Brought my daughter here over the weekend for a free trial class and she loved it. The location is rather large and they have a ton of equipment. The staff was very friendly, the owner Robyn was there to answer any questions we had.
Overall i really liked it. The schedule of classes is great! In searching for a gym, i noticed not a lot of places offer classes after 5 or weekends so that was a plus for me. The fees seem reasonable. Only thing i didn't really like was that they charge a $35 annual fee per child, so that can get pricey when you have more than one to register.
