The employees are very friendly and helpful. Every time I go to tan they are always smiling and welcoming. It's really nice since I go everyday to have such pleasant people to greet me and set the beds. They have a wide selection of beds including a red light bed that basically cured my ankle and foot of severe pain that I had been suffering from for decades. The tanning beds go from beginner beds to advanced and everything in between. No matter what type of skin or color there is a bed selection for everyone. 5 STAR BEDS as far as options go, and they work. Decent priced too. However if I'm being honest
1 STAR CLEANLINESS the sanitation as far as the floors go is a total fail. I mean obvious to the average Joe from standing distance without searching. I literally took a my disposable mask off and swiped where j thought might have been dust. I sorta was hoping it was just a strange wear spot or something but low and behold I'm talking dusybunny city. The front desk blonde is sweet and non threatening no attitude problems. Real young and still decent ya know? The brunette wasn't rude however she seemed

The owner is awful. He used to let members leave their lotions (not sure if they do anymore) and mine was either lost or stolen and the owner refused to do anything about it-even a discount for a new bottle would've been appreciated.
Another time before this I was waiting for a bed to open up and listened to him bashing another tanning salon owner in front of me. He's just incredibly rude and seems to give zero f*cks about his customers.
I will never go back to this place because of him. That's not how you run a business and not the type of people I want to a support.

I had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE! I got a spray tan via the versa and truly looked like a DALMATIAN WITH DOTS EVERYWHERE because the machine malfunctioned. I was polite and understanding and simply asked for my money back. It's been 8 days and I still don't have it back. I called and spoke to CHRIS the OWNER who HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called back and he YELLED at me and BLAMED ME for using the machine wrong!! SUCH A TERRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT THAT STOLE MY MONEY AND BLAMED ME! DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT SUPPORT HIM! Beds are nice compared to others in the area, but don’t come close to what I’m used to on the east coast. My main issue is that the staff are clueless and could use a lot more training. I think you should have experience using each bed in order to guide customers in their selections. Staff should also be able to answer basic questions about the differences in the beds. Additionally, they offer contactless payment, but the staff is not trained to use it and asked for my card without even attempting to let me use ApplePay. Lastly, CLEAN THE TOP ACRYLICS! Glad I carry my own cleaning solution

Found this tanning salon online and was skeptical cause of the reviews. I am SO beyond satisfied with my first experience. The person up front was extremely knowledgeable, kind and considerate-she truly wanted to ensure I was happy. I would highly recommend this location- I left feeling loved and cared for. A++

Love TAN Soquel. I use the versa spa whenever I have an important event and need to look my best. The staff is always nice and helpful.
I don't think any other places in Santa Cruz have a spray tan machine. I like doing this better then getting airbrushed, so I can tan in private and not have to get spray tanned by some random person.
Anyway if you need a Tan for any occasion or just too feel better about yourself, I'd say TAN is the place to go.

This place is great. The owner and every employee I've met have been awesome! I have a feeling the bad reviews are from a competing tanning salon trying to bring them down because they're the best in s.c. Area easily. Better beds, better service, better prices, better tan. Don't kitche to haters and check it out for yourself! You don't regret it!

I joined this salon and signed a contract and immediately asked to cancel due to the fact that I went several times and tried several beds with NO results. I have been tanning for decades and have never had such poor results. I left several notes for owner and was NEVER contacted. I was told that some bulbs were past due by one of their employees. Not sure if that is true however I can say that I have never gone tanning at any salon and not got results. Went back to previous tanning salon and after one visit I saw results. The manager/owner should have returned any of my dental messages or offered

I requested to cancel my membership because I am moving to Sacramento for work. The woman who helped me assured me that it wouldn't be a problem and that I wouldn't be charged again. She explained that she couldn't do it, however, she that the manager had to do it. So she wrote a note in a notebook and said that the manager would cancel it when he came in. That was nearly three weeks ago. Today my account was charged another month. I will update this review of the issue is resolved respectfully.

I don't like to leave negative reviews... but I'm officially done with "Tan". I've only used the Versa Spa so can't speak to the beds... those do look modern and nice. I used to use tanning beds for years but my doctor lectured me, lol. But the spray tan seems to be getting worse and worse. As someone else said, it's incredibly blotchy after a couple days, and even using the "barrier cream" my hands and feet look crazy. Also, this may not be much of an issue now that it's warming up, but for me whenever I have used the Versa Spa it's *freezing

I was a member for over a year, the receptionists always knew what I wanted, even ordered things for me if they didn't have stock.
I'm reading a lot of people saying they got 'yelled,' at for using wipes on the beds, if you're going to tan like that, you should educate yourself, even 2-8 wipes on the plastic causes cracking and costs ridiculous amounts to repair. The staff would probably be more than happy to come in and give it an extra clean, this IS SANTA CRUZ, people come straight from the beach, sand in their shoes. Keeping staff is impossible, it's usually school aged gals working, conflicted

I wiped bed and floor before use with babywipes that they provide and they turned black with filth. The owner yelled at me infront of 2 employees and a costomer, for using the bathroom. I made the mistake of using baby oil once and was informed next not to so i discontinued after 1 time of doing. The owner yelled at me for the assumption i continued which wasnt true. I cleaned before n after each use because i dont know who was before me or if they even clean. Guess not since the babywipes are black when i wipe down before laying on. Sorry for having good hygien. I tanned 1 time and the beds lights
