At JDE, a child's intelligence and reasoning are exercised through playful creativity: trying out new ideas, expressing emotions, taking different roles, making choices, repeating known ways of enjoyment. Play is a natural medium for children to express pleasure, curiosity and autonomy and is integrated as our primary way of learning.
We partner with families to support the social, emotional and cognitive growth of each child, all while immersing the child in French through the creative exploration of the language. All levels of French learners are welcome, from beginners to native speakers as we come together to lay strong educational foundations for a life of curiosity and openness.

Services
At Le Jardin des Enfants, we hire passionate, dedicated and caring teachers who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children. Take a look below to learn more about our team, and reach out with any questions. Teacher Axelle is a French native and has lived in Los Angeles for the last ten years.
There are no French language requirements to attend our Mini-Maternelle program - only an openness and desire on the part of the parents or guardians for the children to learn a new language! Children must however be between 2 (24 months) and 5 years of age by the time they start school. Ms. Axelle and Ms. Diane care for the kids with love, creativity, energy and so much fun.
Since 2014, JDE has welcomed children to its fun, warm and vibrant classroom community to play, grow and learn together, all in French. The classroom boasts a three-year age range of pupils ranging from beginners to native French speakers.
This system allows flexibility in learning pace and permits the mutually beneficial relationship to develop whereby younger children seek to emulate older children, and older children naturally become teachers by sharing what they have learned with the younger ones. The children are offered a variety of opportunities to work both individually and cooperatively in small groups.

We feel so lucky to have found Le Jardin des Enfants. After our daughter's very first week, she told us how much she LOVED her teachers and we understand why! Teacher Axelle, Diane and Nathalie are warm, silly, thoughtful and kind. Not only are the kids exposed to the French language, but also geography, history, music, gardening, art, dance, yoga and cooking. They offer healthy snacks and encourage new foods and flavors. The staff at JDE make sure to send both group photo updates as well as individual messages to each family, making everyone feel they have personalized attention. The parent

We love Le Jardin des Enfants (JDE)! We started with JDE because of the French language component and stay because of the fabulous teachers! Teacher Axelle is patient, nurturing and really connects with the kids. Simply put, Teacher Axelle is amazing!! And, I would be remiss not to share that Diane and Teacher Nathalie are equally great! We speak French at home and are thrilled that our little one has improved his French and English at JDE. JDE has everything that we were looking for: amazing teachers, small class size, French language component and a close knit community. Our kiddo loves it here

We started going to Parent and Me classes in January 2018 and had such a great experience with the teacher and other families. I decided to enroll my daughter to the preschool program and am so pleased with our experience. My daughter looks forward to going to school every day to see her teachers and little friends. Ms. Axelle and Ms. Diane care for the kids with love, creativity, energy and so much fun. My daughter developed in so many ways, ranging from learning a new language to practicing yoga to singing songs to interacting with new friends to lining up to eating lunch independently. My son

Le Jardin des Enfants is a fantastic school with devoted teachers dedicated to sharing French language and culture. My 3 year old son skips out the door when it's time to go to school. The two teachers who lead the preschool, Diane and Axelle are conscientious and kind. Axelle is a musician and teaches many French songs to the children. My son comes home singing songs and doing the movements to his favorites. I'm very appreciative of the love these teachers have poured into the school. Highly recommend it!

We've been sending our (now 3+ year old) Son to Le Jardin, 3-days a week for 8 months or so now. He absolutely loves it, as do we. Diane and Axelle are not only great at what they do, but are as humble as they are caring and passionate. Choosing care & education for a little one can be daunting and stressful. My wife and I are very happy with the decision to send our Son to Le Jardin, and our son is as well!

Le jardin des enfants has been such a wonderful experience for our son. He is in his second year with the school, and he absolutely loves it. The teachers are wonderful and truly know and care about each child and their needs. It's a small school, which we felt would be a nice transition between our child being at home with us for the first 2 years, to being in a larger class in kindergarten, and we definitely made the right choice. All the children (and adults) here play well together, grow together, and truly care for one another. It's been an amazing transitional time for our son

Jardin Des Enfants is a true gem!! From the director, Diane, to Teacher Charlotte and Teacher Axelle, they were all very thoughtful, knowledgeable and took genuine interest in getting to know and interacting with my 15 month old daughter. We attended a Parent and Me summer camp program here a few months ago, and I have nothing but positive remarks about our time here. They take the time to really tailor the classes to the interests and appropriate ages of their students. All the songs we sang were lively, the dancing was very fun, the crafts were stimulating and age-appropriate. As a plus, we then

When I toured schools, I would look at the teachers and think, do I want my child to emulate this person (because they will). The instant I met the teachers, I knew this was the school. The teachers have magic and you feel it the instant you walk in. You see it in the kids- they learn to live together, play together, and really care for one another, it's a real community.
I remember one day, I came to school early to pick up my daughter Romy. All the kids were playing outside and Ali (the teacher) simply started singing a French song... and soon, one by one the kids lined up, singing

Le Jardin Des Enfants was a great place for a child to learn French and have a happy time making new friends, dancing, playing and learning with their teachers. In just a few weeks, my child was speaking French! I like that it is not just a daycare but a little school where children go to learn new concepts. Le Jardin Des Enfants has been a stimulating, rewarding and positive experience for my child and my family. Zaia was simply amazing.

I enrolled my daughter in the JDE summer school program and she absolutely loves it! When my husband goes to pick her up she doesn't want to leave. Teacher and owner Ali is wonderful and is so good with the kids. My daughter brought home some great crafts and I really enjoy the weekly updates and photos we get. She has learnt a lot over the short time she has been there. Thank you so much Miss Ali and teachers for such a great first school experience for her!

Our son just finished his first year at Le Jardin des Enfants, and we couldn't be happier with his growth during that time. The teachers know him so well, and treat him with such empathy and affection while providing the firm structure he needs. He has made wonderful friends, and learned so much -- French, yes, but also letters, numbers, fruit, vegetables, art, the body - the list goes on. We loved getting the biweekly summary of what the kids did, which taught us so much about early childhood education - we could see how adeptly the teachers tailored the lessons to the kids' interests

Le Jardin des Enfants has been a wonderful experience for my son. The teachers, Ali and Zaïa are caring, engaging, and great at what they do. We love that the program is play-based and that the kids do art every day. For example, the kids are learning about "les fruits" so they will be using felt pieces of fruit to create their very own Arcimboldo-esque works of art!
The French immersion component is what originally attracted me to Le Jardin, but even if it was an English-speaking school, I would be pleased. That said, I'm delighted when my son comes home singing the French
